We are now more than 60,000 players! 🤯 A lot of you have asked what's planned, so here's the whole thing. Most of the first list is already built and just waiting on Reddit's approval.

LANDING IN THE NEXT UPDATE (As of August 4th, 2026)

🏁 A third story chapter — Dade County: The campaign carries on past Hialeah into big-wheel country: candy paint, 26-inch chrome, twenty new races. It also brings a **new race type, CALL YOUR SHOT** — you call the time you think you can run *before* you go, and how close you land is what scores. Going faster doesn't help you. A flawless run can actually lose. 👀

🚙 Every car will have a type: Tuner, muscle, exotic, and a new one: big wheels. Some races only let one type in — the whole Dade chapter is big wheels only, and you get handed one when you start it, so nobody's locked out. It's there to make a garage worth building instead of riding one car forever.

🌑 A new car rarity above legendary MYTHIC: The first one is the Eclipse, built by hand for you by our Head Mechanic, Andrea in the hotel's showroom. It's never sold, at any price — you earn it, and it's a long grind on purpose.

🌉 Two new events: Events are limited-time cities that open for a couple of weeks with their own ten-race ladder, their own crew to beat, and a car you can only win there. Next up is Tampa — ten races over the bay, with the Brass Corsair (a plain brass wagon hiding a monster motor) yours to keep if you finish all ten. Orlando Event follows right behind it, out on the tourist strip after the parks close, with a stunt hatch called the Carousel GT as the prize.

🕹️ A new building — the arcade, and items: This is the big one. Chips buy items here: 2× Credits for 30 minutes, a wrench that cuts hours off a car rebuild, a shield that saves your daily streak if you miss a day, a crate reroll, an extra import order, and a blank card that turns into a card for any car you own. You also get one free spin at the prize counter every day, and every item drops free from crates too. Everything you pick up lives in your new inventory, so you can hold onto it and use it when it counts.

🎬 A new building — the cinema: A screening room where you can race any track again: old campaign missions, past daily races, even events that already closed. You still get paid for those runs and they still count on your record. It also means you can challenge other players on any race, instead of only on the daily!

💵 Shop update: You can now buy Chips or Credits directly.

Plus car rebuilds, card fixes, and a long list of bugs fixes as well.

**AFTER THAT**

🌎 The events turn into a world tour: A new city every couple of weeks, each with its own track, its own crew and its own car. Everglades and Jacksonville finish off Florida, then it goes national — Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Detroit — and eventually overseas to Tokyo, London and Paris.

🎨 A paint shop: Another building for your city, where you pick your car's color. Candy coats, pearl flake, ocean fades. To be transparent, this is a heavy lift based on how many cars and permutations we have - will scope this feature over the next couple of days.

🎫 A season pass: A long reward track that fills up just by racing. The more you race, the more you pull out of it — items, parts, cars, and things you won't find anywhere else. Nothing extra to grind; it just pays you for the racing you're already doing.

🧰 More items: The list above is the starting set, not the final one. I'll keep adding new ones as you tell me what you'd actually use.

🌑 More mythic cars: Reserved for the racers who actually put the laps in. Earned, never sold.

A promise while I'm here

Yes, there's a shop, and honestly it's what keeps this thing running — thank you to everyone who's bought something, it means more than you know. But I'm not building a game where the wallet decides. Chips and Credits are both earnable just by racing, so the shop is a shortcut, never a gate. Items only speed up what you earn — they don't touch your race time, your grading, or where you land on a board. And the upcoming best car in the game, the Eclipse, isn't for sale at any price. That one you earn!

There will always be a free car that can win. That's the line I hold. Play to win.

You've been racing solo long enough. Crews are in!

🏴 What a crew is

Up to 12 racers under one tag, and here's the part that matters: you don't have to do anything different. Every race you already run scores for your crew. Daily runs, challenges, campaign — whatever you were doing anyway, the Race Points you earn get added to your crew's total for the week. No extra mode to play, nothing new to keep up with.

One racer can put in 20,000 points a week, and that's the ceiling. So the crew that wins isn't the one with the biggest grinder — it's the one that gets the most people out on the strip.

Your tag rides with you: it shows up on your Reddit flair, your player card, and the new CREWS tab on the leaderboard.

🏁 Getting in

Tap the Crew Clubhouse on the strip (it's open now) → FIND A CREW.

• Joining is free: Search by crew name or tag, or grab an open seat off the MOST ACTIVE list. Some crews are invite-only — those need a 6-character code from a member.
• Starting your own initially costs 50,000 CR and 3 race wins. You pick the name, the [TAG], and whether anyone can walk in.

New to it? There's a HOW CREWS WORK button on every crew screen. Read it once, you're set.

🏆 The Crew Rumble — runs all week, pays out on Mondays

Your crew gets dropped in a bracket with 7 similar crews and you race all week. Monday morning the board settles, and everyone in the crew who raced that week gets paid:

• 🥇 1st — 3,000 CR + 8 Chips + a Crate, each
• 🥈🥉 2nd–3rd — 1,800 CR + 4 Chips + a Crate, each
• Everyone else — 600 CR, each

And you're all chasing goal chests together on top of that. Hit them as a crew, and every member who raced collects:

• 30,000 pts → 800 CR
• 70,000 pts → 1,500 CR + a Crate
• 120,000 pts → 2,500 CR + 8 Chips + a Premium Crate

One catch, and it's the whole point: you have to race at least once that week to collect.

Note: prizes will increase in the next update!

💰 Two more things you get

• +50 CR on your first race every day, just for being in a crew.
• 15 Chips when someone you recruited sticks around and runs their first 5 races. They get 2,000 CR for showing up.

📣 Filling your seats

• 📣 RECRUIT writes your call-up post and puts it up in r/oceandriveracing as you (feel free to repost it to other communities!) — anyone who opens it can join in one tap. Every crew also gets its own thread in 💬 CREW HQ for calling race nights and welcoming new riders.

👀 Also in there

• ⚔️ Crew Wars — 48 hours mid-week against one rival crew. Pairings drop Tuesday.
• 🏗 Clubhouse restoration — race and donate to raise your clubhouse through three stages. More seats, daily Credits, a gilded tag, and a car you can't buy at any price.

Two more buildings just came off the boards. The strip is getting loud.

🔧 The Garage — Import Bay

Jhonny finally got the roll-up door open. Inside: order the exact parts you want on a timer, or put in for a specific car card for the ride you're chasing. No luck involved. You pick, the crew delivers.

🏨 The Flamingo Arms — Hall of Fame

The priciest restoration on the strip, and worth every Credit. Inside: the top 20 racers of all time, the record holder for every track, the founders — and a plaque with YOUR name on it. We also hung permanent plaques for the racers who helped shape this game — the feedback, the comments, the ones who kept this community growing. You know who you are, and now everyone else will too (and this list will keep growing!). 🙏 The hotel also runs EXTENDED HOURS: the city keeps earning for you up to 36 hours between visits.

🏆 The Trophy Room

Through the Hall of Fame, into the showroom. 12 career trophy tracks — wins, duels, collecting, fusing, big spending — each running Bronze → Silver → Gold → NEON → MARQUEE. Gold and up pays out rare car cards. Tap the 🏆 on your home screen — you've probably already earned a shelf's worth.

💰 City earnings — turned UP

We rebalanced the idle trickle: the diner, club, hotel and garage all pay Credits while you're gone now, and every renovation bumps the rate. More buildings are coming to the strip, so this number only climbs from here.

🔩 Also under the hood: leaderboard times fixed (apologies to whoever "ran" a 0.011s quarter mile), the daily post now pins a proper top-5 table with car + rating, and duels got a real DEFEND flow — when someone calls you out, you pick the car that answers.

👀 One more thing — Rey pulled me aside and said if you really want to own this strip, you're gonna want a CREW behind you. That's all he'd tell me. Stay tuned for the next update and happy racing!

The strip went dark years ago. Time to fix that.

🌴 Ocean Drive District — restore the strip

There's a whole city block on your Story screen now. Jhonny, our head contractor, will rebuild it — you just bring the Credits. Every building you restore actually does something:

• Ocean Watch Tower 🗼 — the lookout spots free cars for you. Race, fill the blueprint bar, and the exclusive KAIDO GT is yours. This one's cheap — restore it first.
• Club Ultraviolet 🪩 — the Back Room trades Credits for Chips. Restore it further and the rate gets juicier.
• Neon Palm Diner 🍳 — earns Credits while you're gone. Come back, hit COLLECT, get paid.

That's 3 open — and 7 more boarded up on the strip: the garage, the arcade, the hotel, the cinema, the pier, the crew clubhouse, the paint shop. All coming soon. 👀

⚔️** Call out ANY racer — right on the daily po**st

Tap a name on the leaderboard → ⚔️** CHALLENGE. Your callout gets posted on today's daily* as*** you, they get pinged, and whoever runs the faster time today takes the due**l — winner takes a *ch*ip 🏆. Same car class only, results posted publicly for the whole crew to see. Talk is cheap. Times aren't.

🏁 Daytona Speed Week — July 16

Our biggest event yet opens July 16: 10 runs built for pure top speed, and a Silver Comet land-speed rocket in your garage from day one. Clear all 10 before the window closes and she's yours forever. The countdown's already on the Events screen.
