Strong Astigmatism - Sports Glasses or Toric XR Contacts?

I have a bad astigmatism in my left eye. My prescription shows -5.00 for the left Cylinder. The Shere on both eyes isn't too bad +1.00/+1.75. Anyway, it seems that my astigmatism is making it harder to track fast moving pickleballs (depth perception).

I have found 2 companies that make sports glasses (I don't think I can use regular eyeglasses due to potential pickleball impacts). These companies can make lenses up to a Cylindar correction of 5.75. And I know that there are a couple of companies that make Toric XR contacts that can accommodate my prescription.

So, are Contacts or Sports Glasses better for my use case (strong astigmatism - need better tracking/depth-perception for pickleball)? Glasses allow for less sideways vision, and toric contacts need to stay in place and not rotate, or things get blurry).

M5 Pro 48GB or M5 Max 36GB (For Lightroom, Photoshop, and Running AI Remotely)?

I am going to get a 16" Macbook Pro for Lightroom, Photoshop, and Running AI remotely, as well as normal business apps, etc. I plan to keep the Macbook for ~4 years.

I've narrowed my choices to M5 Pro 48GB with 1TB SSD or M5 Max 36GB with 2TB SSD. I know the M5 Max 48GB would be a better option, but its out of my price range. So, between the M5 Pro 48GB or M5 Max 36GB, which do you think will be best for Lightroom, Photoshop, and Running AI remotely?

Update: It looks like the trade-offs are:

M5 Pro 48GB 1TB Setup: Additional 12GB of RAM and $370 in my pocket

M5 Max 36GB 2TB Setup: Additional 12 GPU cores and 1TB additional SSD

First Decision: It sounds like either laptop will work for me but since I don't plan to do much local AI work, that more memory is better for my use case than more GPU. I will be getting the M5 Pro 48GB 1TB setup. Thank You everyone for your help. 👍🏼

Current Decision: Well I went to BestBuy to get the M5 Pro 48GB, they had a M5 Max 36GB 2TB macbook for $2986. That is only $197 more than the M5 Pro option, so I got the M5 Max instead. Based on the feedback here, either Macbook should fit my needs well, so I think I am all set.

Dewalt Pole Saw Storage Questions - DCPS620B

I recently got the DCPS620B Pole Saw, and I had a couple questions about storage.

  1. I see the owners manual says to store the pole saw in a cool dry place. I have 2 sheds. One is a plain ole wood shed so temperature will range from 0 to 100 degrees through the year. The other shed does have heat so the temps will range from 55 to 100 degrees. Will either of these sheds be ok for storing the saw? My options inside the house for a tool that leaks oil is limited.

  2. I do drain the oil from the saw after each use, but it leaks oil (as intended) unless I lean the pole in a 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock orientation with oil cap at the bottom. This is currently sitting on a shelf where the tool could get knocked over. Do most folks just hang the head vertically on the wall, with the head hanging down, and put a plastic bag over the head to catch dripping oil?

2 copies of the App on MacOS?

I installed the beta on my Mac, running MacOS 26.5 and I appear to have 2 opies of the app. One is in Applications, and the other is in Applications/Utilities.

I tried moving one copy of the other (MacOS said one copy was for Apple Silicone, and the 2nd copy was Other). In the end I still have 2 copies. Is this normal?

Update: I deleted one of the copies (for the 3rd time), and now I just have 1 Raycast Beta App in my apps folder, and none in the Utilities folder. I did have to re-do my setup and re-install the Extensions I had downloaded, but things seem to be behaving as expected now. 👌
