Buying a Lakland bass from Sweetwater, would a Fender be a good “try before you buy” option?

I’ve been thinking about buying a Lakland Skyline 44-64 bass from Sweetwater. However I’d be doing so blind with no way of trying it out before I purchased it.

There’s nowhere in my area that sells Lakland basses either.

Would going to a Guitar Center or something and trying a Fender P bass be a reasonable option to see if I like the style? Or would there be too many differences between the two for that to be an accurate test?

Looking for information about Milestone(s) school

Someone I know went through a pretty rough time in their childhood. For a couple of years they went to a private school over on the Palm Bay/Malabar side of US-1 called Milestone or Milestones? Apparently later it became River’s Edge and maybe Stepping Stone.

They don’t remember why they went to this school and it was only for a couple of years. It was during a traumatic period of their life, so maybe it was for troubled youth?

It doesn’t exist anymore. I’m a relative newcomer to Brevard and I guess it closed before I ever moved here. But I’m trying to help them find out information about the school.

If anyone has any insight or attended the school or whatever we’d love to hear from you.
