Recommendations for classic O/U or S/S 20-gauge (the Toyota Land Cruiser of shotguns)
I grew up shooting sporting clays, doves, and quail with my dad's guns (favorite being a Belgian-made Browning superposed) and am looking to make an investment in my own over-under or side-by-side 20-gauge with the hopes of owning it forever, passing it down, etc. I am willing to invest in a gun of quality that will hold value, but nothing overly excessive. Some element of 'style' is great - I am not looking for a totally no frills option - but this would certainly be a gun that gets used, not a collectible that sits in a case unfired.
While I have the shooting experience, I am not very well-versed in shotgun makes/models/years themselves outside of what I have used myself, so turning to the experts here. The best analogy I can think of is that I am looking for the classic Toyota Land Cruiser (100/200 series) of shotguns...not as pricey as a Lexus, and certainly no Range Rover (i.e., British guns), but something that is a classic and will work well / be in demand forever. But fully understand that you have to pay up to a degree for that quality and collectability - not looking for a Nissan Pathfinder here (no offense if you own one, lol).
