Some minor upgrades

I’m 8k miles into owning this wagon and I got a nox sensor error and SCR efficiency code. So got it up into the air and was slow working on getting the sensor out (PB blaster and heat) and managed to break the plastic inlet off the DEF injector. So while I wait on FCPeuro to deliver I have some time on my hands for a few mods.

Fire extinguisher.
Got thr bracket from ebay and then was surprised fcp carried the extinguisher. Way cheaper than oemextinguisher.com. Super easy install.

MSport pedals
The brake pedal you drill 3 holes for the screws with nuts on the back side which is much more secure than i expected. Gas pedal was 2 screws into thr plastic pedal and adhesive. Dead pedal was adhesive tape on the whole back surface.

I also did 10mm spacers on all 4 corners which fit perfectly(to my surprise).

I was a VW diesel guy for the first 15 years of my car life with an OEM+ modded mk4. Had dreamed about an f31 wagon when they first came out and looped back to wanting one about a year ago. I wanted radar cruise control for my horrid commute(which seemed to be a very elusive option…)and after 6 months of looking I found this one.

Higher mileage but it’s hard to be picky shopping for an 8-12 year old vehicle.

Seems to have every option except Harmon Kardon, Msport and adaptive suspension. Exterior color and interior are a combo I would have picked if I were buying new.

First mod: European side mirrors.

Got oil/air/cabin filters and coding the first week I got her home. Replaced the dead fuse for the 12v outlets and added some proper cloth floor mats.

This weekend so far we have done transmission and differential fluids. And just need to finish up the transfer case and brake fluid.

Manual says I should do o2 sensors so that will likely be next. Then I should hopefully be set for the next 50k for major services.

Put 2000 miles on it so far with 40-45 mpg!

Will eventually get a trailer hitch, stereo upgrade and…. webasto parking heater!
