I thought that I could sneak a blueberry to another pig after his medicine.
Sisko noticed. I felt white hot heat and look over to see this.

Teddy Bear, 3 years old. Started getting stones about a year ago, first removal was August, then October, December, and March. Just got back from the vet and confirmed on Xray he has a fifth. Part of a boar foursome, where each guy has his own pen, and we rotate who gets to run around the perimeter around the other guys throughout the day.
The exotic vet I have been going to is not specialized in dietary issue and hasn’t been able to make much headway in treating this. She put him on a daily dose of Hydrocholorthiazide and potassium citrate 6 months ago. I sprinkle it on a chunk of Honeydew melon. I switched to all low calcium fruits and veg, nothing more than 22mg of Ca per 100g. I printed out a list from GuineaLynx and I have been consulting that site the whole time as well. Baby carrots are as high as I go. We did a stone analysis on two of them and they came back 100% calcium. No oxalates.
Most recently I thought it might be his house, which is a compressed hay enclosure that might have been contaminated with alfalfa hay, so I switched him to all wicker and wood houses and tunnels.
I have been keeping them on just Western Timothy hay and the simple harvest food from Oxbow. Occasionally I would give them the Forage Wise food from Oxbow which has only slightly different ingredients and a similar calcium profile. But now I am suspicious that this food may be triggering him. I looked closer at the ingredient list and I see it has calcium sulfate in it, which the other doesn’t.
At this point the surgeon doesn’t feel comfortable moving forward unless we have something more concrete from an expert. She referred me to a vet 100 miles away, but that’s not really a fun trip for a pig with a fat stone in his bladder.
Does anyone have a reference to a telehealth vet that would be able to provide more suggestions? They gave me a printout of his records and said they will gladly transmit electronic records wherever needed.
TYIA.
