WARNING: Phishing attack 10th May 2026

There's a scammy phishing email going round with a dodgy PDF asking you to pay fees. You will hopefully have been alerted by the UCL Go app.

This is not a UCL systems issue, more a phishing attack from someone's compromised account.

Further details, and what to do if you have been impacted (or mistakenly clicked on the link)

https://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/news/2026/may/beware-scam-emails-targeting-students-for-fee-payments

>We are aware of emails circulating today that claim some students’ accounts will be suspended, as well as others requesting fee payments.

>These emails are not legitimate. Please do not make any payments in response and do not reply to them.

>Please note that the only route for students to make a payment to UCL is via our payment partner Flywire.

This thread is to gather all posts and questions regarding accomodation for 26-27, (continuing from the 25-26 Thread). [!]

Check here for previous comments on the Application process, areas of London, specific Halls. Hit that upvote button to bring the cream to the top. Ask away if nobody has answered.

Accomodation swaps:
Rent too high? Made a terrible faux pas with your current roomies? Reallised how far the tube really extends? You can also post any requests to takeover your contract or swap allocated accommodation, though for UCL accomodation there is a portal for that too.

We also have a Wiki page on Accommodation where you can find information on specific halls picked from previous comments.

This thread will hopefully:

  1. help potential swapees find each other
  2. give students an idea of price/location/other aspects of the accommodation that might inform their choice
  3. keeps the sub tidy

To this end, we'll generally remove individual Accommodation requests in the sub. You can sort by new and save this post if you're actively looking for your perfect room.

Every year people start up group chats for new students, offer holders etc. We will keep a list of them in the wiki and in this stickied post. [!]

Guidelines:

  1. Post a link to the group
  2. Describe what cohort / course / Hall, etc the group is aimed at
  3. If you're the group admin, introduce yourself!
  4. These are obviously unofficial unless stated and we're unable to verify them. But if any are blatantly scammy or abusive, let us know and we'll remove them (this is also why it's useful to know the Group Admin)

These are off the top of my head so any recommendations are welcome.

It's time to get ready for September! !

This thread is for all students intending to start at UCL in September 2026. Whether you've got an offer, or still waiting one, this is the main place to ask general questions and keep up with what's going on. (25/26 thread)

E.g. What are my chances with predicted XXX?

  • When will I hear back?
  • What does "offer Y" mean?
  • Can I change to course Z?
  • What is Curmudgeonly Hall like?

Alternatively, some of your questions might be more specific to you and your circumstances. It's fine to ask here, if that helps you make a decision and compare with others.

You have all the key information already with your application. If you've accepted an offer, check your emails regularly for updates from the welcome teams. So for the most part, you now need to **sit tight**, wait for for your grades, and enjoy the summer!

However if your circumstances have changed in any way, or a response requires action from you, check the guidance and definitely check your email before contacting the Admissions team. Remember this is Reddit, sir, and not an official UCL platform.

Key information

All the latest authoritative information is via the UCL Journey page, "What next?" for UG and PG but you may still have questions that aren't in there or the FAQ.

There's also the excellent Unibuddy service, and Ask UCL if you're already received a pre-enrolment email.

the r/UCL Community

This sub is unofficial but thrives with your contributions. Chances are your question has been asked before, so please do a quick search at the top before posting - otherwise your post might get queued.

Let the Mods know if there's anything you've found that's outdated, or anything new and useful to share - useful comments and signposting will help build the wiki page.
