Jupiter and Venus Conjunction

Unfortunately last night it was too cloudy, as they were closer but this is the conjunction of Venus on the right and Jupiter, I had to rotate this 90 degrees to fit Instagrams' layout, But irl Venus was directly above Jupiter. You can just see the 4 Galilean moons from top down in 2nd Image Ganymede, Io, Europa, and Callisto. Taken from Sherwood Forest Park

Rare-ish birds in the area

Quick trip out this morning to try and find some rarer birds in the area. The has been a Yellow Breasted Chat on the west side of Hamilton up the mountain where I also got good looks at a Willow Flycatcher. Then Down wo Windemere Basin to see the 2 White Pelicans that have been here all week.

There have been 2 White Pelicans hanging out in Windemere Basin this past week. These are common in Northwestern Ontario and into Manitoba and we do get reports of them every year as they pass through. If you go bring Binoculars as they are well back in the pond.

Semipalmated Plovers along beach

Went looking for shore birds along Hamilton beach as several species have been reported in the past few days but beach was extremely busty so only found 2 semipalmated plovers
