The Unmaking of a Mayor by William F. Buckley
Bamtam, 1967. Written about his attention-getting run for NYC mayor against John Lindsay and Abe Beame. Padded out, like many of Buckley’s books, but some entertaining parts.

Ballentine, 1967. An attempt to market this in the US as a spies-and-sex romp, when in reality, this is one of Amis’ most grim and emotional novels. Note also how the jacket copy harks back to Lucky Jim, the only book of his that US readers were likely to be familiar with.
Signet / New American Library 1961. Good quality paper apparently, nowhere near as yellowed as some other paperbacks I have from this era.
Ace, 1974. Some of his old “Weird Tales” stories mixed in with later stories like the title entry.
First Dell printing, 1961
