104k Miles on Volkswagen Jetta 2019 1.4L
I have 104k miles on my VW Jetta, and I’ve been reading that the timing belt should be replaced somewhere around 80–100k miles. However, after doing some research, I’ve also seen a lot of people saying they didn’t even think about replacing or checking theirs until 120–150k+ miles.
For some context, I bought the car in 2022 with 18k miles on it. I change the oil every 5k miles myself and have kept up with maintenance. I replaced the spark plugs at 60k, did the brakes at 80k, and replaced the brake fluid as well.
The reason I’m asking is because I’m about to drive around 400 miles, and I’m wondering if I should be concerned about the timing belt at 104k. I just changed the oil as well.
Would you guys recommend getting the timing belt inspected/replaced before the trip, or am I overthinking it? Appreciate any advice, mates!
