Has anyone heard any official news about what's going on with ultrastar-es.org?

As has already been discussed on here, ultrastar-es.org has been having a bunch of connection issues recently. It's hit or miss whether I can reach the site but the connection issues have now extended to the torrent tracker and so now I can't even download songs I already have the torrent files for.

Has anyone heard any official news? I've done some searching and haven't turned up anything but I also don't speak Spanish so maybe I've missed something.

Can anyone who owns the ULM202USB mics confirm if they are actually 2 channels in Windows?

I need to be able to have separate mic inputs which is most easily done by having one mic on channel 1 and the other on channel 2 i.e. split between L/R. Can anyone who owns the mics check in Windows if that's the case? Thanks.

Has anyone used the VocoPro Commander-USB-Handheld mic with Ultrastar?

I'm trying to find a decent set of wireless USB mics for not too high a price (SingStar isn't an option). Has anyone tried out the VocoPro Commander-USB-Handheld mics? If so, how were they?

Suggestions for pulling punches?

A rare situation came up in my hand last night where a player wanted to do less damage in a fight. The basic situation is that they were sparring with their mentee and wanted to win but not completely wreck them. They then proceeded to roll 5 Wounds on their first attack and incapacitated their mentee in the first attack.

Any suggestions on rules for allowing characters to deal less damage than they roll? Perhaps negatives to the Fighting roll in order to ensure no more than one Wound?

Edit: To be clear, I'm talking about dealing 5 Wounds, not about the lethality or danger of the attack. I want a way to deal fewer Wounds.

How would you create a bite from a monster that's big enough to fit multiple people in its mouth?

My campaign has a massive sea serpent as a potential enemy (Size 14, based of the entry in the FC but not identical). The serpent is large enough to swallow an entire rowboat whole and could easily fit multiple people in its mouth at the same time.

Default attack rules for SWADE don't really fit the fantasy. Having this giant monster take a bite at a single target doesn't really make sense. There's also the problem that with the Scale modifier of -6, the chances of hitting all but the weakest targets is basically zero. Just hitting a 4 is less than a 10% chance. It's going to turn this giant, terrifying monster into something completely ineffective.

Has anyone here ever run a big monster like this in a different way?

My first idea is to treat it as an AOE attack. Have it target a MBT or LBT, give the targets a change to Evade, and then hit the ones who don't evade with the bite damage. This feels narratively consistent where there's this giant gaping maw flying towards you and you need to jump out of the way. I'm also considering that it has to swim around a bunch to set these up since it's 150 feet long.

My other idea (which I like much less) is to treat it sort of like the Sweep edge where it attacks everything within Reach. The problem is that still has the Scale problem mentioned above. It's also way swingier as either I miss everyone or, in the event that I get a lucky enough roll, I'm hitting everyone and doing d12+d10+11 damage to them all at the same time. That's a fast track to a TPK.

Does anyone have any other ideas for how to capture that feeling of a giant mouth attacking a group or area?

Just to head off some criticism, this isn't a fight that I would expect the PCs to be taking on at a melee level. They have a giant warship and that's the real scale they would be fighting at. The issue is that it's fully possible for them to be ambushed at a point where they're out in the water in a rowboat or when they're swimming around. I want that to feel like a threat.

Also, please don't suggest Quick Encounters or Dramatic Tasks. I'm not interested in that as a solution to this problem.

Question on Gang Up

I just want to verify my understanding of how Gang Up is calculated. Check out the following examples. Letters are allies with other letters and numbers are allies with other numbers. A is attacking 1.

Example 1. Gang Up should be +1.

Example 2. Gang Up should be 0.

Example 3. Gang Up should be 0.

Example 4. Gang Up should be +1.

Example 5. Gang Up should be 0.

Are all of these examples correct?
