A New Hobby - Laser Engraving

I've recently undertaken a new hobby, thought I'd drop one in here I've recently created.

Coin heads - Athena in battle form in an homage to Gigantomachy.
Coin Tails - Throne of Athena sitting empty.

Hope you enjoy it.

New Zeus Coin

New Zeus coin I finished up last night. Took more work on the depth map for this one and it helped a lot I’m getting about a 0.75mm depth difference from high to low with the settings below which is what I’ve been targeting. This is a 40mm diameter x 3mm thick coin.

Did it on a ComMarker Titan 1 100W with these setting. Let me know if you have any recommended settings changes as I’m still pretty new to these.

NOOB Weekend of Coin Making

Well I broke in the new laser this weekend doing coins. I’m a total noob so go gentle. Here is the bunch I did first one in top left then each subsequent one to the right is the next one. A little Greek god theme going here.

First Run

So I’ve never used a laser before so these are my first runs ever + first on my new laser. Did a single pass marking run last night on the stainless steel they provide with the laser just to get used to it. Today I tried an engraving run but stopped it after two passes as I had to leave and didn’t want to leave it running. Any event, looking forward to playing more in the weekend

New Rolling Workbench for New Laser

New laser arrived and I needed a better place to put it so built a new workbench for it today. Can’t wait to fire up the laser this week.
