Opinions on subwoofer for small apartment

I currently use a set of KEF q1 metas in my small apartment living room. I am seeking a subwoofer to extend the lower end range of my system for a fuller sound. The caveat is I need the absolute smallest footprint possible leading me to the Kanto sub6.

I do not need wall shaking bass but I do want a subwoofer that is musical and can be fast and responsive while providing a moderate thump for bass heavy genres like hip hop or edm.

The question is, would the kanto sub6 be a worthwhile upgrade for my scenario or am I better off without a subwoofer due to my constraints. Thanks in advance and feel free to offer any alternative solutions if you’d like :)

How can I make my speakers sound better in confined space

I just picked up a set of bower and Wilkins 606 s3 and am underwhelmed with how they sound versus when I demoed them. Granted they are still breaking in but the lows seem muddy and the mids are less present and being over powered. Does anyone have suggestions for a way to treat this space or maybe speaker placements? Thanks.
