Do older scouts volunteer at Council Camporees?

Our Council has an annual camporee every fall which includes Merit Badge clinics for the troop kids and Adventure Classes for Webelos and AOLs. They are having a hard time getting volunteers to run the Cub adventures.

I started thinking they are missing an opportunity here. Why couldn't they recruit troop level kids to teach these adventures? Specifically current and former Den Cheifs. After all, one of the ways to earn their Den Cheif award is to staff an event like this. Does any other council do this? What challenges did they run in to?

Fundraising is a predictor of retention

I was going through our Pack's roster and noticed that off all but 1 scout that participated in fundraising last year came back this year and only 1 scout came back that didn't participate. Has anyone else noticed this trend in your packs?

AOL Brisging Early

I have a scout that intends to finish Webelo and then join the troop as early as possible. All her friends are a grade ahead so she has no interest in spending most of next year on her AOL.

Is there anything stopping her from working through the AOL requirements over the summer and joining a troop in the fall (she will be 10 yo)?

Cheap Pack Tent Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations on cheap tents our Pack could purchase? We camp about 2 to 3 times per year and I am trying to get the AOLs and Webelos to start tenting together and modeling the Patrol method during these activities.

5 Year Anniversary

Facebook reminded me that yesterday marked 5 years since my family joined a pack. My oldest son entered as a Wolf (2nd grade) and is now Second Class in his troop. My younger son started as a Lion and is entering his AOL year. Both kids have developed close friendships with many of the kids in the pack and plan to continue scouting through Eagle.

Stick Bridge

Planning out my year and thinking about having my AOLs and Webelos build stick bridges for their Engineer/Build It Adventures. This elective is close to my heart as I am a civil engineer so I want to make it stand out.

If you have tried it in your pack, how did it go? What weights did you test too? Did you limit the amount of material they were allowed to use?

What sign/salute do AOLs use?

Since we are introducing the AOLs to the Scouting America sign, salute, and handshake are they expected to use that as AOLs or do they use the Cub Scout versions since they are still in a Pack?

What to see?

Taking a work trip. Looking for recommendations, specifically for the sections between Kalispell, western Washington, and Oregon. Bring a travel trailer and camping along the way.

Must see recommendations

Spending July in the PNW. Will be traveling from Kalispell, just east of Seattle and then down to Bend, OR. What are some must see places or must do activities I should hit on my trip? Traveling with a small travel trailer and avoiding the cities.

Photo category not a caption option

I am updating a document that has a photo log. I used to be able to add a caption and then add cross reference hyperlink elsewhere in the document. But now Photo is not showing as a caption category or a cross reference option. Can I fix this somewhere in the settings?

Warranty for rotor issue?

I bought a 2025 Kia Soul less than a year ago and it has less than 8000 miles. We are having problems with the front end vibrating when braking at highway speeds. It also surges a little when braking at low speeds.

It is likely a front rotor issue. Would this be covered under warranty? I know brake pads and other parts are not typically covered, but it seems this isn't normal wear.
