Sandstorm devs I'm begging you, PLEASE fix the stuttering from shader compilation

Whether its an amd, nvidia issue I couldn't care less just please fix this game stuttering.

Ive had this on 2 different GPUs and for some reason you guys are updating the game but not fixing the stuttering that people are STILL complaining about in this sub.

Most modern games just have shader compilation in the main menu to get most of it done before getting into a game, this should not be a problem in 2026 ffs.

Can we please pin driver updates like the nvidia sub?

I don’t understand why driver discussions aren’t pinned, it’s the only reason most people even come to this subreddit just like nvidias sub.

It’s pretty annoying having to search “driver” and filtering by month just to find out what the latest driver is without going to amds website and to also see what is going on with the latest driver.

I think it’d be very appreciated

Sprint Spam Bug

I’m not sure how to report this or what exactly is happening but if you spam the sprint button and cancel quickly on controller enough times your sprint no longer works (as in you can’t initiate a sprint) until you do an action fully like aiming down sight, crouching, etc.

It’s been happening for years and it’s annoyed me enough and since no one is trying to fix it I’d like to report it somewhere so that someone may be able to fix it.

This was not an issue with the original game on console so I’m not sure if this might just be related to iw4xs controller compatibility

Automounting Drives in CachyOS

I’d like to start by saying I appreciate this distro and all of the hard work people like Peter and all of the other contributors do, you guys have made the experience switching from windows to Linux (as a gamer) way smoother and basically just as performant as windows.

With all of that said, the current way this distro handles automounting drives is both archaic and unintuitive for new users as well experienced ones.

People shouldn’t have to read an entire section of the wiki just to copy and paste lines they don’t even know just to get their drives mounted. Even in the forums here, more often than not, people just say to use gnome disks to setup drive mounting…

I’ve been on Linux now for over a year so I am by no means a “new” user and I completely reinstalled my cachyos install because of some issues I had dual booting and I decided to try to use the new “Safer and beginner method” which uses systemd as I have always been annoyed with the way this distro handles automounting and thought this must be easier! Boy was I wrong and it was so annoyingly confusing that I made this post.

There’s no clarification on how you setup multiple drives within the wiki for the systemd method, then when I tried to mount using systemd I got an error for an unknown reason that told me to check journalctl for what went wrong.

While I could figure out how to fix it eventually, I just ended up using the fstab to set everything up instead because even as an experienced user this method was not beginner friendly.

On top of that between both methods in the wiki, there’s a lot of conflicting information regarding what flags should be used, where to mount your drive and (atleast in the systemd method) no clarification on how you would set up multiple drives.

It says to mount your drives in the “games” folder within your home directory but if you have multiple drives, where else do they go? Do you just add another section in the systemd mount file with your second, third, fourth drive or do you make new files? Then where do you mount them because you can’t just create another “games” mount, you already made one…

Surely with how the “CachyOS Hello” system is setup, you guys can create some kind of gui/script to allow OPTIONAL automounting for atleast Linux native file system drives (with the recommended flags from the devs) to save time/questions for everyone.

Sorry for the rant but this is easily the biggest annoyance for newer users switching to cachyos, especially since this isn’t even a problem in most other popular distros…
