Something doesn't add up with the viral "NEET AIR 165" claim from Jalpaiguri.
For the last couple of days my parent's entire Facebook feed and WhatsApp groups have been flooded with posts claiming that a girl from Jalpaiguri secured NEET UG 2026 AIR 165.
At first I was genuinely happy. But then I decided to verify the claims instead of just believing every news post.
Here's what I found:
Her actual NEET scorecard that's circulating has a QR code.
When I scanned it, it opened the official NTA verification page.
The verified result shows 205/720 marks and AIR 10,36,974 and not AIR 165.
That's not all.
I also found a JEE Main scorecard claiming 99.89 percentile, but anyone who's seen a genuine JEE scorecard can immediately notice that it doesn't look authentic. Another scorecard with the same candidate details shows 64.39 percentile instead.
There are also reports that her parents claimed she scored 180/200 in WBJEE and got GMR 52. From the WBJEE rank trends this year, that also doesn't seem to match up.
What bothers me the most isn't just the conflicting documents.
In a town like Jalpaiguri, local achievements spread like wildfire. Parents are already comparing their kids, coaching institutes are sharing these posts, and everyone is treating this as an inspirational success story.
If the claims are true, there should be official proof.
If they're not, then local news pages should be held accountable for publishing unverified achievements.
I'm attaching all the screenshots, including the QR verification. If I've missed something, feel free to correct me. I just don't want misinformation to become "truth" because nobody bothered to verify it.
My dumb ahh spent 10 min at this qsn 😭
BEWARE of scam questions like these
Need some advice on preparing for ISI/CMI
I've seen from searching around that I should solve and practice difficult olympiad level questions. But whenever I see such difficult qsn, my brain just goes blank. Also I'm seeing qsns from very niche topics, maybe some topics way beyond the syllabus.
How do I even learn about it? Any specific teachers or notes I should prepare?
all help is appreciated. thanks.
