I think this should be a word, but it's not.
I wrote my undergraduate dissertation in 2011 and I wanted to describe the nature of a relationship between two characters.
They viewed each other from afar in the story, rarely spoke to each other but they individually became infatuated with each other.
I wanted to be able to say that the nature of their relationship was 'infatuative' - but my supervisor made me take it out.
This is something that is close to being a hill I would die on: infatuative should be a word.
In the 2002 WC hosts South Korea somehow managed to get to the WC semi-finals, beating Italy in the last 16 and then Spain in the quarter finals - both games littered with really controversial refereeing decisions that always benefited South Korea.
I can see that happening in the US. The political economy of it is that if the US go out early, there will be less interest in the tournament, because (most, definitely not all) Americans dgaf unless they are playing and think they're going to win. So there will be an imperative to keep the US in the tournament, to keep the stadiums full and to continue sportwashing the Trump regime.
It will not surprise me at all if the US stumble their way to the later rounds after a litany of contentious decisions.
And if they come up against a team who are on Trump's special list of countries he doesn't like? Could the visas of some of their star players suddenly, inexplicably be revoked? Will ICE be raiding players hotels? It's not beyond the realms of possibility.
I was into fantasy novels at the time and picked up a book at my local library (UK, around 2004-2006), but it wasn't quite what I expected!
It was effectively a set of short stories, where faeries seduced humans, usually in a forest. I remember one story of a human watching a faerie touch herself, the faerie was aware and carried on.
The book has a dark green cover, possibly with yellow or gold writing. No idea of the author unfortunately.
I'm trying to explore why sociology is a popular topic here in the UK at A-level, but popularity drops off when it comes to University degrees. So I want to ask - what made you choose sociology for a degree, and did anyone try and convince you to do something different?
I have a 14 inch Zenbook that I take to work most days. I have a thicker protective case for it but honestly, it's overkill and takes up too much space.
I'm after a really thin fabric case, more to protect against scratches from something in my bag than drops.
