Sky's WiFi Max is an absolute joke. Why do I need an engineer visit just to plug a second pod into a wall?

A year ago, I set up Sky broadband for my father-in-law. Getting him a couple of Sky Max pods was relatively painless, we did have to call and jump through hoops, and they would only send out one at a time, but they eventually posted them out, and job done.

Fast forward to today. I call up because I need a second pod for my own house. Instead of a two-minute conversation, I was subjected to a 25-minute interrogation. The agent made me jump through endless hoops, repeatedly forcing me to switch my internet on and off to "test the connection" before he’d even entertain the idea of giving me what I already pay for.

The punchline? They flat-out refuse to put a second pod in the post. Because I already have one pod, Sky’s brilliant new policy dictates that an engineer must come to my house to install the second one.

I explained to the guy how incredibly stupid that is. I’m not an idiot. I know exactly where the WiFi dead zones are in my own house, and I am fully capable of pushing a plug into a wall socket. He "understood my frustration" but said his hands were tied.

Why are we paying a monthly premium for a service they deliberately put behind bureaucratic walls? You can't just order the pods on the app; you have to waste half your day on the phone begging for equipment you're already subscribed to get.

I'm done. I'm taking the advice I always see on this sub: I’m cancelling the WiFi Max add-on and just buying my own mesh router setup. If you're thinking about paying Sky extra for their WiFi guarantee, don't bother. It's a complete scam.

I biffed it... Anyone know how I could fix this?

I accidentally included my favourite top in a 60° wash! Opened up the machine to find this. Absolutely devastated as this is my absolute favourite bit of kit. It's the version without the blank patch on the back, and there's no name or number. As far as my aesthetic sensibilities are concerned it is my favourite by a long shot, and part of that is because I also love the neon badges and sponsor logo.

Has anyone got advice or know how to re-attach / re-glue these on?

Framer is absolutely getting worse. At pace.

I've used Framer ever since it was a CoffeeScript prototyping tool back in 2015 or so. I used to help run the Framer meetups in London and was such a strong advocate for the tool.

They pivoted to a react based advanced prototyping tool and alienated designers... Which didn't last very long.

They again pivoted, this time to a UI Design tool. It was just, meh...

Then they nailed it, and pivoted to a website building tool - I remember being hesitant at first about this but then after building a quick website and seeing how simple publishing was I suddenly became a massive advocate again. I was so happy using the product.

Fast forward to the most recent major set of releases, and they've gone a really long way to losing my support again. It's crazy how a company can so consistently make me fall in love with the product, and then downright loathe the product, over and over and over again.

Some specific issues;

  • Pushing AI agents - The tokens run out so incredibly fast it's a joke. Just make it optional so I can turn it off and use something else outside of Framer. Obviously we all know why they won't do that - it's a huge money grab.
  • Killing off the community site - This is honestly one of the biggest peeves I have... I can't believe they've just sunset it... I'm honestly just shocked. It was a great place to go and get answers to all of the frustrating quirks and workaround required to properly make a Framer site actually work! There's so many areas Framer is lacking, and the ability to reach out to the community and see if someone else has solved the problem you're facing was amazing. Now they've just ripped that away and given us the absolute trash "feed" / "hype" bullshit. It's a joke - just full of people pitching their template. It's not a forum, it's a silly twitter feed. I fucking hate it.
  • Inability to bridge the gap on important features that competitors nail really well (like Webflow). For example;
    • Native instagram feed. Squarespace manage this, it's dead simple
    • E-Commerce. Again, Squarespace make this really simple, and it's SUCH a common ask for so many of my clients, they just want to sell a bit of merch. Nothing complicated.
    • Transform animations. Webflow are so much better at these
    • One that was solved recently (about time); being able to reference CMS fields between collections
  • The fact that handing off a website to a client requires that client to pay for a seat for you to be able to log into their site. I've made websites for quite a number of clients, I can't expect them all to pay for an additional seat if I need to go in and just help them solve something. I'm doing Framer a massive solid by solely using them. They are getting a lot of business through me - why can't I easily log in to their site without a paid seat. It just seems greedy and makes me consider using Webflow instead.

There's undoubtedly more - but these are the ones that come to mind initially.

Just feels like from here on out, the product will get shittier and shittier... I'm probably going to start using Webflow again.

To the "I wanted a draw" crowd: Arse’s win just gave us a massive 9% survival boost.

I have seen a fair few people on the sub saying they would have preferred to see arsenhole and Wet Spam draw yesterday.

I get the reflex to never want arsenholes to win, but if you want Spurs to stay up, that result was actually the best thing that could have happened for us.

By denying Wet Spam that single point, arsenhole effectively halved Wet Spam’s chances of catching us and gave us a much bigger safety net.

The Maths

There are 5 games left to be played between the two of us (3 for Spurs starting tonight, 2 for Wet Spam). This creates 243 possible combinations of results.

Scenario A: If they had tied yesterday
• Spurs Safety Scenarios: 196
• Wet Spam Safety Scenarios: 47
• Spurs Survival Chance: 80.7%

Scenario B: The current reality (Wet Spam lost)
• Spurs Safety Scenarios: 218
• Wet Spam Safety Scenarios: 25
• Spurs Survival Chance: 89.7%

The Result:
Because Wet Spam walked away with 0 points instead of 1, their "paths" to survival were cut from 47 scenarios down to just 25. That is a 9% mathematical swing in our favor.

Why that 1 point changed everything for us:

So, while it feels gross to see arsenhole win, that result was a massive gift to our survival hopes. Let's get the job done against Leeds tonight and bury this race for good. COYS.

Why do people think non-Sony 14” CRT’s are worth so much. No mention of a remote, SCART only. Strong “I know what I’ve got” energy
