Why does this sub even exist?

Literally half the comments are just "leave them alone," "they don't need us," or people playing the ethics card about how we shouldn't even want to study them.

Honestly, it makes no sense. If nobody can go near the place, what are we even supposed to post? A 10-second clip of a plane flyover? Some pixelated Google Earth screenshot where everyone tries to guess if a blur is a tree or a person?

The Indian government keeps the whole island on total lockdown with navy patrols, so no one is getting actual data anyway. They're never going to allow drones over the island either. The absolute maximum we'll ever hear about them is if another John Allen Chau situation happens and someone gets killed trying to land there.

Otherwise, this whole sub is just destined to be wild speculation, recycled theories, and the same tired moral arguments over and over again. Discussing a place we’ll never actually see or understand just feels completely pointless.

If Andrew is still alive, I doubt he’s still in the UK

Okay, I know the problems with this theory. He didn't take his passport, there wasn't really any evidence he wanted to run away forever, and there's no proof he ever left the UK.

But sometimes I wonder if maybe most of the theories are completely wrong and he really could still be out there somewhere. MAYBE?

If that's the case, almost 20 years have passed now. The case wasn't as huge as Madeleine McCann's, but it's still one of the most well-known missing person cases in the UK. That's what makes me wonder. If he was still living somewhere in Britain all these years, wouldn't there be a bigger lead by now? A convincing sighting, someone recognizing him, something.

My thinking is that if he's alive, there's a decent chance he eventually ended up in another country. Not necessarily the day he disappeared, but at some point after. I don't think a 14 year old could pull that off alone either. He would've needed help from someone older.

And yeah, this is where it gets more speculative. If the theory that he was gay has any truth to it, maybe he met someone and became very attached to that person. Not saying that's what happened, just throwing ideas around.

This is a total shot in the dark, but if I had to guess a country, I'd probably say France. It's close, and after 20 years it wouldn't be hard to imagine someone building a completely different life there. I also remember seeing some old 4chan posts years ago claiming he was in France somewhere?

Imagine he spent years learning French, got used to life there, and now he's just some guy living in Paris or a small town somewhere. Different haircut, different clothes, different accent, maybe even a different name. Most people wouldn't look twice.

I know there's basically no evidence for any of this. Just a random thought I had while reading through old discussions.

It’s honestly terrifying to realize how many twisted people are out there

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole reading about John Wayne Gacy lately. Honestly, it’s haunting how he killed at least 33 guys back in the 70s. It’s been making me think a lot about Andrew.

Even though it’s a different time and place, the victim profile is just so similar to him. Gacy was a smart, manipulative guy who knew exactly how to hook vulnerable teenagers. He went after young white guys with long hair who were away from home. He had that way of gaining their trust, promising them jobs or some quick cash. The fact that he buried most of them right under his own floorboards is just plain sick.

It makes me wonder if Andrew could’ve run into someone like that. The fact that absolutely nothing was ever found, no trace, no belongings, is what really gets to me. I keep wondering if the person responsible just had a perfect way to hide the body or if they were buried on some private property somewhere, just like Gacy.

Does anyone know if there were any active serial killers in the 2000s with a similar MO? It feels like something that might’ve been overlooked, and it’s been bugging me for a while.
