Salty about being rejected from a pattern test

It was a mostly crochet project with some finishing knitting touches. I apply for the project because it was a beautiful pattern and I have the yarn in my stash already.

First question: what is your social media handle and how many followers do you have? Your account must be public. The more followers you have, the better!

Now, I have no problems linking my socials, and I also have no problem with her seeing my past work, but the more followers the better? It just left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that she wants the pattern to go viral, but I feel that follower count should not be the first thought that comes to mind. I value my privacy very much, and while I would have no problems sharing her content with my followers, it’s definitely not reaching over 50 people.

Thoughts from the bitcheatingcrafters? Am I being too crotchety?

Shipping label not scanning, I felt bad because it’s been a week, shipped it anyway, what to do next?

Hi all,

First time selling on Depop. My shipping label won’t scan, either with the QR code or with the actual label printed out. Went to my post office three times to resolve the issue, still no dice. It’s been days since the item sold, and it’s literally $5, so I just shipped it myself out of frustration to get rid of the thing. That, and it’s over the 8oz weight limit by a fraction anyway.

Anyway, it’s shipped now, how do I resolve this on the app? I don’t care about the money loss on my end, but don’t want to refund the buyer. I’ve sent the shirt. What can I do to get rid of the nagging shipping icon?

Thanks for your help!

A bad case of the strike

This is Maggot Mary (we just call her Mary).

I recently acquired a dozen chickens, who came with my new house.

The entire flock was skittish for the first two days, so I didn’t notice her scrunched in the back. By the end of the week though, the ladies were crowding around me, fighting for toast scraps and berries. Except Mary. She was lethargic and slow, and didn’t bother to eat anything I offered her.

So I grabbed her, stuck her into a stall, and checked her over. I won’t get TMI here, but she was pretty far into flystrike. There were more than a few maggots in an open wound on her vent. I’d had chickens all my life and never dealt with this. So the iodine dumping began. She got a saline bath every few hours, and I swallowed any gag reflex and cleaned her up.

It’s been about a week since the wounds healed, and I excited to say that I think she’s on the mend, or at least well enough to break into my planter boxes! Old Reddit threads were invaluable in her treatment, so thank you very much r/chickens.

My dad’s Brave Warrior. What would be the best way to start a restoration?

My dad brought this bike over to the US from the UK when he moved. It’s sat in our barn since the 2000s. It has surface rust and will likely need all new components. Where can I get these? Are they still mainstream parts? TIA!
