Dream rim brake SL6 taking shape - featuring custom forged carbon headset spacer
Managed to put most of my new (to me) tarmac SL6 together today, until I realised that in my haste, I forgot to order the correct bottom bracket (for some reason I just assumed it would be BB86).
Anyway, in the meantime check out this custom forged carbon headset cover/transition spacer I made to fit an SL7 stem. Decided I wasn’t going to pay £40+ for the MagCAD version, and since this frameset was cut slammed by the previous owner, I needed a custom height.
The 3d printed mould was unfortunately sacrificed in the process of removing the part, but if people are interested I might upload the CAD of the spacer itself (it can be 3d printed, but the geometry and overhangs are tricky) and of the mould, if people want to try it for themselves.
