Has anyone else become weirdly selective with convenience spending lately?

Things like food delivery, Uber rides, express shipping, etc. used to feel normal, but now I catch myself constantly calculating whether the convenience is actually worth the extra cost.

Feels like a lot of Australians are quietly becoming more intentional with everyday spending without even trying to budget aggressively.

I'm curious what convenience expense people cut back on first once costs started rising.

What grocery item in Australia has quietly become a luxury for you lately?

I'm not talking about obvious expensive stuff, but normal everyday items you used to buy without thinking twice.

For me it’s weird seeing basic things slowly move into the maybe next week category because the prices just keep creeping up.

Feels like everyone has that one item now where they look at the shelf price and think nah, not worth it anymore.

What’s yours?

Anyone else noticing people care way less about brand loyalty with groceries now?

Feels like a few years ago, people mostly stuck to one supermarket, but now almost everyone I know checks multiple places depending on specials and weekly prices.

Even people who never used Aldi before seem way more open to switching now.

Is this just temporary cost-of-living behaviour, or do you think grocery shopping habits in Australia have permanently changed?

I’ve been trying to cut down my grocery spending lately, but it feels like prices keep jumping between Coles, Woolworths and Aldi every week.

One place is cheaper this week, then it flips the next, so it’s hard to tell if you’re actually saving or just guessing. I’ve tried sticking to one store and also checking multiple, but both feel inefficient in different ways.

Curious how others are handling it right now!!!
