My phone voice recording a chaotic situation yesterday

I thought maybe this would be appreciated in this sub. For the record, no drugs ended up on the floor!

Favorite flat hikes for an injured runner

I know I can check WTA and I will but I was curious what everyone’s favorite flatter, easier hikes are. I’m anxious to get back out there but I need to be super careful about elevation gain! Would love to hear any suggestions!

Edit: based in Seattle and thinking no more than 1.5 hours away!

IDR payment higher than estimated

I applied for an IDR plan since half of my loans were PAYE and the other half standard. When I applied on FSA, it said my estimated payment would be $465. Mohela processed the plan and accepted it but now my payments are going to be $675, $200 more than I was paying before. Now I wish I hadn’t even recertified.

I’m so out of the loop about all of this and I’m confused on what to do. Should I call Mohela?

Cardiologist said no to oral minoxidil.

I started on topical minoxidil in 2021 but I hated applying it every day plus I have pets. I switched to oral about a year later but then stopped it when I was diagnosed with my heart block in 2023.

Hair loss hasn’t really seemed to progress but I finally followed up with my derm and we talked about restarting oral minoxidil. I was super excited to start it again so I wouldn’t have to apply topical but my derm wanted me to check with my cardiologist before I started it.

I’m glad I checked but I am still bummed. I will have to ask my cardiologist why oral minoxidil is bad for the heart block but I think it’s just an overall safety concern from what I can find. Maybe this will help me stay more consistent with applying since it’s my only option.

Thoughts on dry needling?

I had not heard of dry needling until I started seeing PT regularly after my femoral neck stress reaction diagnosis. I was skeptical at first but dry needling has actually really improved my pain levels as I get back to sport. It just seems to take away all of the dull achiness I have in my hip tendons. I especially seem to respond to dry needling in my quads but we have done adductors too.

What do you all think about dry needling and its benefits?
