Thoughts on the public execution of Nidal Malik Hassan from an anarchist perspective?

Over the last few days, Nidal Malik Hassan, an ex US army major was sentenced to the death penalty by public firing squad, to be broadcasted and publicly presented on the day of December 3rd this year. It is the first case of public execution since atleast 1931. (Wether the execution will be public is still disputed, a lawyer states this may be merely another publicity stunt from Trump and his administration.)

Nidal Malik Hassan is an ex US army major responsible for the Fort Hood shooting on the 5th of November 2009. 13 people were murdered (14 if a fetus is included), and 30-36 injured (Number disputed).

Hassan's motive was stated to be his soon to be deployment into Afghanistan, in less than a month. It is said he gave most of his belongings to his neighbors prior to his shooting at the base.

The Pentagon stated that Hassan would be publicly executed on the date previously mentioned, the first one since the Second World War.

Pete Hegseth stated: "We are making sure people can see it, so people know there are consequences to these things."

Death sentence lawyer John Mills stated: "Unprecedented in the modern era" and "Uncertain in the legal terrain."

Trump said on Friday that he believed the execution was deserved, but he had not mentioned the livestreaming.

Now for my personal take: Before you start thinking im in support of this, I am a leftist. I myself am not sure of what kind of leftist I am, but I found this incredibly apalling and shocking and wanted to know what the anarchist perspective on this situation was. I believe the crime seems incredibly impossible to forgive, but the fact that we are wanting to do a public execution is something ridiculous and authoritarian, that has the potential to desentitize people to future abuses of power.

What are your thoughts?

Crazy good find at the flea market today, Louder than Bombs for a dollar with minor damage. One of the songs (I believe Back to the Old House?) was damaged but it was only a small part. Otherwise, incredibly happy with my first CD. Now I need to find a CD player lol. Definitely returning to that flea market for more CDs.

Hello! New player here.

Im likely not the first new player here and wont be the last, but I just got this brand new CASIO piano gifted to me for my birthday as of today. I had been wanting to learn to play piano for nearly 1-2 years. I've never played piano or taken lessons before but I have 4 years of experience playing guitar, so some knowledge of that has been pretty intuitive in helping me understand piano. I'll likely be taking lessons for the piano to improve my skill but as of today im simply teaching myself and messing with the keys, its fun.

I came here to simply ask for any general information I should know regarding piano? I feel I'll learn as I go but it would still be nice to have some feedback from other pianists, beginners or experts alike.

The only notable thing I have to say regarding my learning experience as of today is that I was practicing Hey Jude as my first song and whilst I have gotten the hang of it, my wrists and fingers ached quite a lot after the practice. Is it simply from not using my hands enough in this kind of way? Like calluses? Or was it my technique? Im playing with zero technique at all, just the way my fingers felt most comfortable but it eventually started to hurt a bit.

TLDR: Brand new keyboard, never played piano before, have played guitar before for 4 years, learning as I go, any tips or feedback?

I've had this thought rumbling in my mind for a bit and im surely not the first one to ask in here, but I was curious what other leftists think of OTHER leftists (Communist, socialist, anarchist, etc.) who are in an upper class living. By this I do not mean to say they are billionaires like Jeff Bezos with multimillion dollar companies, but neither do they experience the struggles of paying high rents to landlords, or experience hunger, and are able to afford most goods and services, perhaps even some luxuries.

Are these kinds of leftists just wannabes? Are they on the same levels as people like Sam Altman? Are they apart of the problems in our current society? Are they as nefarious as a billionaire?

Or are they also capable of being leftists? Could their contributions support the cause? Should they be excluded from the movements?

I have my own opinions on the matter, but it is quite a paradoxical contradiction that I needed a second opinion. Any criticisms or explanations are welcome.
