Loose maltese in Virginia Village

Red collar no tag. Tries to bite me when I pick it up

EDIT: found the owner!! Finally was able to grab him and put a leash on him and kept walking around the neighborhood and heard people whistling for him. His name is Cash!

Silly listicle of best Mexican restaurants in the U.S.

Alma Fonda Fina and La Diabla made the list but I’m posting more so because the author replied on one of the comments, “there is so much great Mexican food in Colorado.” which reminded me of this post
https://www.reddit.com/r/Denver/s/zC3mtdEdd6

Anyway enjoy:

Gracias Monterrey!

Late post but I appreciate everyone who provided answers to people’s questions in this forum about coming here. It was so helpful for me since it was my first time in your city. I know there was a lot of chaotic things too that happened here (as well as Mexico City) but I guess I’m fortunate that I was able to have a fun, safe time. Things I learned:

  1. Paseo Santa Lucia: I bookmarked this without knowing it was a canal 😆 what a lovely surprise for me. It was nice to walk here, especially at night. Did the boat ride as well
  2. People were kind: there were small gestures I will remember. A la

dy at Fanfest told

  1. me to come over and take her seat when she had finished eating and saw I was looking around for a seat with my hands

full with my drink and dinner. And a worker at a cafe who brought me over a glass of water when she heard me coughing a lot. I didn’t even make any eye contact with her

  1. So glad I took the metro to the Holland Morocco game. The walk to the stadium did really have fantastic view of the stadium with backdrop of mountains. I’m not sure which other stadium in the world is more beautiful than this one

  2. The setup of the big screen in Macroplaza was pretty cool (for night games)

  3. The parade with the Dutch was really fun although it was hot AF

  4. Mexican fans are so fun and funny. The No era penal chants, ole with every touch, Cielito Lindo singing, etc was all great.

  5. The Enrique Iglesias concert was fun; it was not too overcrowded or disorganized for me

  6. Seeing Cerro de la Silla for the first time on the ride from airport took my breath away. I told the driver I was surprised at how green it was and he told me it’s cause it just rained :) (I had just missed the downpour of rain that caused flash flooding in the streets and some cancellation of fan fest events)

  7. I enjoyed the Museo de Historia Mexicana; the World Cup exhibit was also cool

  8. I went to Mirador Del Obispado and met some nice Moroccan fans, enjoyed tacos at Tacos Doña Mary, and had fun walking around barrio antiguo. Thanks for these recommendations

I had no idea who I was going to see when I booked these tickets. I just wanted to visit your city and see the stadium. I think hosting the World Cup is a challenging and difficult job. Thank you for hosting!

Edited because line breaks don’t copy over well from Notes to Reddit

Just a KC Appreciation Post

First time in your city for the Colombia vs Ghana game. My personal experience was that everything ran smoothly, from the shuttles to the experience at Fanfest for Fourth of July. I was able to keep updated via Instagram and appreciated all the tips and recommendations on this sub so thank you for taking the time to chime in here.

I felt a little apprehensive with the random shootings at the beginning of the tourney, the theft of some of England team’s equipment, heat and humidity, transportation issues with the first Argentina game, but everything was fine for me. I loved Ponak’s, Hotel KC, the Overland Park farmers market, Nelson Atkinson, Country Club Plaza, Joe’s Next Door, The Roasterie cafe, dad’s bake shop etc. Not sure on the World Cup tax, esp for restaurants in the burbs (that didn’t have many TVs and were not places to go to for watching games) but at least it was prominent on the menu. And as a random side note, was happy to see clean, spacious all gender restrooms at the airport when I landed. Need to come back and go to all the other places I bookmarked. Thank you bus drivers, organizers, and all other workers and volunteers for hosting!

Water bottle policy at stadium

For those who have gone to the stadium, was it ok to bring empty water bottles? Were there water refill stations? I read that the main issue with water bottles or any type of container is if they have a cap. Wondering how strict security was with this
