Wornall Red Racks suddenly and permanently closed

I mean yeah, they became overpriced, but I found some good stuff there over the years.

I don't get out much. Where should I eat out solo this evening?

Wife and kids are out of town and I have a very rare night alone.

Was going to try for Anjin but they are closed on Wednesdays. I eat everything and if the food and vibe is good would enjoy counter service just as much as a fancy sit-down, maybe more.

Gardner police discontinue Flock cameras as license plate readers face scrutiny

Not Kansas City, but close enough, and step in the right direction locally.

The Kansas City Cycling Revolution

In 2008 Richard Hollingham and Will Grant from the BBC came to KC and recorded a podcast about what it's like to bike in the worst cycling city in America. Now they have returned 18 years later to see what has changed since then.

Holy cow! I've never seen a thunderstorm like that that before (WYCO)

Fell asleep and woke up to no power and whatever the heck that was. Probably the loudest storm I've witnessed. I opened the front door after it ended, and grabbed this piece from a flower pot!

It’s back on and it looks fantastic!

When it was 6 minutes after 9:00, I started thinking Chevy Chase might have been involved with the wiring…
At 9:08, it came on.
Here are three views before the rains came.

Celebration lunch spots suggestion needed!

I'm throwing a 70th birthday lunch for my mom in 2 weeks. We had a place we were going to hold it but due to some unforeseen changes, we need to switch venues. Does anyone have a place near west bottoms/river market/crossroads they love? I'd even take near riverfront area. We have a wide range of ages and need to accommodate 20 people, a few with dietary restrictions. I'd like to keep it a casual place, preferably with a separate room because this is a surprise situation. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Has there been an increase in storms this summer?

Sitting here listening to the rain and thunder and thinking I remember August usually just being back to back days of extreme heat.

How much would a tattoo like this set me back?

I've been wanting to get something like this for a long while and would appreciate an estimate from those who've gotten tattoos in the area. It'll be my first one

Who are we seeing for great Botox?

I said I would wait until 40 to start getting Botox. I had a baby 2 mos before my 40th birthday and nursed her for a year. She’s now weaned and I am ready to start feeling good about myself again after a year of focusing on just being everything she needs me to be. I’m looking for recommendations for experienced, conservative (with the product, not politically - don’t come for me), ethical providers that I can use to start my search. My goal is not to look like a Real Housewife, but just a refreshed version of myself. Please and thank you in advance from a tired 40 year old mama.

Found this and am curious what to do with it.

I got this in a box of tapes from the thrift store. Its pretty interesting and is in really good condition. Is this worth anything to someone in KC? Should i donate it somewhere? Take it back to St. Lukes? Really the question is....Is this rare enough to find a good home for? Or should i just record over it cuz its a cool looking tape? Any help or info is appreciated!

Best seafood restaurant ??

I want to take my friend who has not tried any seafood, he has never had the desire but lately its been peaking his interest and I cant find a good place

I’m talking quality + flavor + portions + atmosphere, not just the fanciest place.
