Built this specifically around on-device inference. Tawen computes a daily 0–100 readiness score from Health Connect data, and the plain-English explanation of that score is generated locally by Gemini Nano via the ML Kit GenAI Prompt API — no health data ever leaves the device to produce it. On phones without Nano it falls back to a deterministic rule-based explanation, and the score itself is fully deterministic either way.

Why local matters here: the inputs are health data, so cloud generation would mean shipping your sleep/HRV off-device. On-device keeps it private by architecture — no account, nothing uploaded. One-time $4.99, no subscription. Android 9+ (Nano needs a recent flagship).

I built Later — a one-feature "save it for later" app, and the widget nearly broke me :)

I kept messaging myself in Slack to park links and one-line reminders, and hated that my personal stuff lived in a work tool. So I built the workflow on its own: save a line of text from the app, a widget, or by sharing into it from anywhere – and it waits in an inbox until you check it, archive it, or set a reminder. Three tabs, one action each.

Most to-do apps treat every item like a commitment. This treats them like things you park and have come back to you, thus no projects, no priorities, no due-date guilt.

The honest war story: the home-screen widget ate ~80% of the build. Glance makes rendering tractable; the interaction design was a pile of small brutal calls like swipe or not, what a tap does in each region, completing a task without opening the app, scrolling inside a widget without render regressions.

Local-by-default using on-device DB with optional Drive backup, local reminders, no analytics, no SDKs. No ads, no sign-up. Android.

What I'd love roasted: the capture flow and the widget; and the harder one, what would you improve without adding features? I want it to stay one thing done well:

What it does: A privacy-first daily mood and habit tracker for Android – a 60-second check-in (mood, habits, optional note) that stays entirely on your device. It requests no INTERNET permission, so your data has no path off the phone.

Key Features:

Local-only by construction – no account, no sync, no analytics, no Firebase; the app can't open a network connection because it doesn't request the INTERNET permission (only POST_NOTIFICATIONS + RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, for reminders).
Year in Pixels – every day is one mood-colored cell; after a few months it's a portrait of your year, exportable as a shareable square image. Plus a home-screen widget for today's mood + habits.
