AITH for not waking my roommate after they overslept?
My roommate has a habit of sleeping through alarms. Almost every morning I hear multiple alarms go off before they finally get up.
A few weeks ago they asked me to wake them up if I noticed they were still asleep because they were worried about being late for work.
I did it a few times, but it started feeling like I was becoming their backup alarm clock. Last week I decided not to. Their alarms went off for about 20 minutes, then stopped. They ended up oversleeping, missed an important meeting, and got written up at work.
Now they're upset with me because I "could have prevented it." I reminded them that I'm their roommate, not their personal alarm, and they said I could've spent 30 seconds waking them up.
Some friends think I should've just done it since I was already awake. Others think it's not my responsibility.
AITH?
