Playing Against SA, E2: A tiring ping pong experience against "Viltrumites" who are above the physics

There is not much to say. I think it is not much to ask that we should be able to punish such unbalanced formations. There is no fair play when AI corrects everything.

Understanding Dummy Runners

This is a single video clip to show how dummy runners behave. In this clip I have used Fermin Lopez in possession playstyle as SS. You can clearly see how he moves:

  1. Off the ball run to create a half space between blocks

  2. Drop deep into that halfspace and become unmarked.

In general, they also allow other players to run into that half space, such as hole players, box to box midfielders or creative playmakers. Basically the playstyles that make runs. Everyone has their own playstyle and preferences, so it is best to try yourself.

Here is my experience and notes with Dummy Runner playstyle:

I think they are best as SS, especially if you are playing possession. Usually 3232 is a pretty good line up to get the most out of a dummy runner. I paired him with Goal Poachers and Deep Lying Forwards and Fox In The Box strikers. For possession against a painfully low block, DLF was the best partner for him. He creates a space around the box and gives me a shooting chance, mucht better than trying to beat deep block with through balls. As AMF I usually use Creative playmakers behind them. That central trio allows me to pass very effectively. With FITB he was also fine, but works better against less of a deep block. He was also very good with goal poachhers, especially when opponent takes risks or plays high defensive line. I also play him as SS in QC playstyle, and he is perfect for a controlled chaos. In QC I pair him with a poacher.

I tried Fermin as AMF in possession, and QC. In possession he was not very effective because his off the ball runs left me with 1 less passing option between the blocks. But in counter attacks, he creates great chaos with those runs as AMF as well.

I also tried him as single striker SS in vanilla 433, possession. He was godd with Prolific Wingers and Creative Playmaker wingers. It allowed me to create some nice passing sequences and shooting chances, but I rather having a pivot there.

One final note about Dummy Runner is to not rush attacks. Wait for them to create those spaces. Dont keep them busy with continuous passing, dribbling or 1-2 spam. Let them do their trick and pass them only when that space was created. To do so, I suggest using 1 or 2 creative playmakers around him. Or a DLF and a Creative playmaker to pass around.

Hope this short analysis and video demonstration helps to people who struggle with Dummy Runners. If you dont have Fermin (or another good Dummy Runner) and have coins, or wanna go for Griezmann, I would say go for him, especially because of low screamer.

Fox In The Box Marco Van Basten: 1000 matches - 1009 Goals - 235 Assist. Scored some great goals with him, and he carried my team one step further. I play possession and sometimes QC, he has been my main striker since 30th anniversay campaign. Great pivot, relible finisher. His only weakness is low balance and mid physical contact. I overcome it with passing. I will share my current build and his technical analysis in the comment section. Hope you enjoy the video, and my analysis helps the ones who struggle using him or another FITB.

I have played 27 matches in divisions. My first 20 match stats were like 14 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses. It was a painful run because I played against SA users nonstop, and momentum on my opponents was crazy. The moment I stepped into d2 game started torturing me. It started to be like 1 win 1 loss 1 win 1 loss. 1 match my team is clicking the next match my players cannot accelerate. I take the lead and I cannit play until opponent scores. If I dont lose, game starts torturing me until I get a loss. Am I the only one experiencing this? I have never played such a manipulative game. If I take this game seriously I would go absolutely crazy. This game doesnt deserve one more minutenof my time until they fix their mechanics. I dont buy cards anyways and the ones they give are already trash against Hazard, Ibra etc. This doesnt feel like a sports game anymore.
