China Paint Test Tile Display

China Paint Test Tile Display

Hello! I am currently doing some research on vintage + modern china paint/overglaze colors. I am testing colors (1,2,3 coats) on common studio clay bodies (b mix, a mix, iceman, + kota, etc etc) and am trying to figure out the best way of displaying the tiles. Pictured above are my first draft tiles. My hope is to upload the tiles + photos of the paints dry, (hopefully) the vial they came in, the paints wet, and then fired at 016.

So my question is... How would you display them? Would you sort the the tiles by color family or by brand? Would you display them on boards and how would they be adhered? Or would they be in a big binder? My hope is that I can bring these tiles to workshops that I do so studios can look at the colors firsthand.

Not trying to make others do my work, just trying to see what people would prefer or what your first inclination would be! I am cool with re-doing them all since I never added brands to the tiles, and many brands have same names for different colors, so yeah... Thanks for any insight!

Surgery yesterday and feeling great!

It's only been a day, but I'm already feeling so much better than how I felt when I woke up from surgery!

When I woke up I was extremely nauseous and in so much pain, it took me 2 hours in the recovery room to actually 'wake up'. Once I finished my water and 2 saltines they whisked me away to the car like I was getting evicted.

Car ride genuinely wasn't that bad. It was raining pretty hard and I think the rain helped keep my mind off of everything. Was still in a lot of pain and needed a lot of help walking and getting to bed, but once I was in it I had a bit of Gatorade and a saltine and fell asleep for 3 hours. The gas pain was a bit much but I only have been taking ibuprofen and Tylenol, I wanted to take the narcotic they gave me but since I take trazodone I called into the nurses line and they told me I shouldn't take it if I'm also taking trazodone, one or the other.

That being said, I downed a sleeve of saltines and was eating dried unsweetened mangos the same day with basically no nausea.

Been waking up on and off to go to the restroom since I'm a Gatorade and water fiend, but I feel great this morning and I haven't even taken my painkillers yet. When I get up the gas pain does come back for a bit but when I make it back into bed it goes away very quickly even without my ice pack

And a fun tidbit, when they took me off of one of the anaesthetics on the surgery table, apparently I tried to roll off of the surgery bed!!! So they took me out again. Probably was why I was still asleep in recovery for so long.

I hope this makes anyone nervous feel a bit better. Before the surgery I was crying from anxiety and so stressed out, this was my first surgery, first time having an IV put in, etc. Even when reading all the success stories I had my doubts. Doubt no longer!

Surgery on Monday! Questions from a larger breasted individual who enjoys pottery...

First, let's cut to the chase. (27f) I've got bazoongas that hang and are large. I've come to terms with the fact I will need to wear a crappy bralette that isn't too hard to get into that keeps the jugs up. When is it generally safe to let them hang loose? Concerned about agitation on the sites, but most bralettes that are easy to get into for me cause uniboob and crazy in between sweating. The ones that keep them separated like the DMZ are tight but properly fitting. Will I need to wear a bra in the shower so they arent touching the sites?

Second, any ceramacists or potters in the house? How did the recovery process go for you? How long did it take for you to wedge clay or throw on the wheel again? Did your studio accommodate you while you were in the weird 'i feel ok enough to go to the studio but I technically can't lift anything above 10 lbs for 4 weeks' point of time? I mostly hand build.

Third, any general recovery tips for my slightly larger individuals (I'm 4f11in 190lbs), preferably from women, on the whole experience?

Thanks to anyone who can answer any/all questions.

Pixel 10 pro xl here, why is it that whenever I try to find a phone case it's always the extra durable cases that make the phone extra fat and heavy, or the silicone cases that cover the phones buttons and doesn't work well with adhesive pop sockets. I just want an ultra slim barely there plastic case that's more for decoration, let's me use the actual phone buttons on the side, and let's me use adhesive pop sockets. Magsafe/magnetic ones are always coming loose and I'm starting to become old man yells at sky. My adhesive one on my pixel 6 pro xl lasted YEARS.

I hope someone has an answer to this. I think it's because they're pushing the magsafe, and the plastic would probably hinder the performance. Sure I could go caseless, but at least the case is there for some protection. I work in a ceramic studio and if I just set down the raw phone either side it'll get scratched up by the sand and grog.

I needed to get this out, anyone else psycho like me?
