Mid year entry is bad, from both socially and academically

talking from social perspective, mid year entry are full of international students, and on multiple reddits, people have social issues with international students (language barrier), and you will probably struggle to make friends

from experiences in engineering, there are some prereqs you must take or recommended to, before you enrol in a course, it will mess up your course plan, meaning you might need to take further semesters to finish those courses

talking about graduation ceremony, it is hosted once per year, most courses are a full year, eg 3/4/5 year program, not much programs are .5 year, meaning you start in mid year, and finish in june, then wait until decemeber for the graduation

tbh, if you don't want to start uni straight away, dont take half gap year, just start the next year with everyone else
