fishnets...
i used the netting from a thing of garlic i got from the grocery store, and these were my results! thought this might be helpful for some. had to touch up the blank spots by hand, but generally i was pretty happy with how it turned out!

Two story, second floor condo in the Savin Hill neighborhood of Dorchester. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathrooms, 1,800 sqft. Excellent natural lighting, fully equipped kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer. Located only a short walk from JFK station, Savin Hill station, UMass Boston’s Harbor Point campus, as well as three grocery stores (Star Market, Stop & Shop, Lambert’s), and is incredibly close to Patten’s Cove, Savin Hill Park, and several beaches. Includes a private parking space off of the main road. The unit also has a shared basement storage space, hardwood floors, gas stove, central heating and air conditioning, marble countertops, and a balcony.
The 12-month lease renews in July. July rent and the security deposit are already covered. Our old roommates are moving to a different state and we’re looking to fill the room they used as their office. They will be fully moved out by mid-July so new roomie(s) can move in then, or on August 1st if they'd prefer.
This is an anti-racist and queer friendly space currently occupied by a lesbian couple and our teenage foster daughter. We have a cat but are able to keep her in our room if our future roommate prefers to be away from pets/cats and/or has allergies. We are open to other pets in the home so long as they are properly trained, friendly to cats/other cats, and fully vaccinated. There is no pet rent, but there is a pet deposit. Ideally looking for a fellow UMass Boston student to fill the space, but this isn’t at all a deal breaker. Open to a single person or a couple occupying the room.
Room details: Medium sized room with closet and two windows (sorry, can’t find the measuring tape to get exact measurements). You will also have access to all communal spaces (two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, patio, and basement, as well as a parking space). Lease begins in August but you can move in by the end of July if you would like. Note: The living room will be largely unfurnished if you would like to furnish it and “take it over” so to speak. My partner and I basically live in our room when we are home with the exception of using the kitchen for cooking/eating and the patio when the weather is nice.
Rent: $1,550 a month. Rent is divided by room. Those residing in a room can split the room cost however they see fit, so long as it comes to the total.
Utilities: Everyone chips in on shared utilities, which are electricity (Eversource) and gas (National Grid), water is provided by the ownership. Utilities typically come to about $100ish each month before they are split three ways, meaning they are usually around $33 per room. Internet is gigabit Verizon fios and costs $74.99 a month, which, when divided three ways, comes to $25 per room, bringing the total cost of utilities to about $60 (give or take) per room per month.
Household policies/expectations: (1) Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, or other forms of discrimination and bigotry. (2) We expect our new roommate(s) to have a stable income that covers their portion of the rent, and for said portion of the rent to be paid on time each month. (3) Personal conflicts are to be handled cordially, with mediation if absolutely necessary. (4) Fuck Trump and fuck ICE. (5) Quiet hours start at 11pm on weekdays. This can be adjusted to be earlier if need be. (6) The kitchens, bathrooms, and living room are shared spaces, and as such, everyone who uses them is expected to contribute to their upkeep and cleanliness, or at the very least to clean up after themselves and their guests. (7) Moving forward, we will meet with one another as a household to discuss our expectations around cleanliness, noise, and personal boundaries. (8) Non-smoking household as per the lease, but you are free to smoke on the balconies. (9) Drug free household with the exception of marijuana Once again, smoking is only permitted outside. (10) Guests are welcome if those hosting ensure they abide by the house guidelines and see to their care, clean-up, etc. Please let other roommates know before having guests over or hosting a party/event by sending a message in the house groupchat or giving a verbal heads-up. Anyone in the house has a right to ask for someone to leave and/or not return if they make them uncomfortable by disrespecting or harming them or their belongings.
Additional information: We would like to meet with you for an informal interview before making any final decisions. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the space, those currently occupying it, or anything else. Happy to do this meeting in-person or online/over the phone.
Note: Most of the photos used are from the unit’s initial listing, hence the sterile aesthetic and bad photoshop. If you’d like to see pictures of the unit currently just ask, things are just a bit hectic as our current roommates are in the process of moving out.
