BidBud Follow Up: I built the bidding tool. Free, Beta, and I’d like it picked apart.
A few weeks back I posted here asking whether people would use a live bidding tool. The responses shaped what I built, so here it is. The initial onboarding is vibe-coded, but everything else involves my blood, sweat, and tears.
It's a free Chrome extension. On a BaT listing it shows you:
A fair-value range built from more than 100k past auctions.
Your true all-in cost — hammer plus fee, tax, shipping, inspection.
A ceiling you can lock, where raising it makes you type out what new information justifies it.
A read on the listing text and comments for things worth checking.
It does not bid.
Fair warning that this is a beta.
The next-bid model is trained on auction bidding history and is more useful in the endgame than during slow stretches.
Win probability is a heuristic.
Comp matching uses year/model/mileage.

A few things I'd like to know: does the fair-value range match your instinct on cars you know well? If it's ever badly wrong, tell me which listing; all of the feedback here will go into refining the next version.
