Painted the fork and rack on my Montague Paratrooper, and then made a MOLLE cover for the main frame tube

Used Rapco's 383 CARC Substitute spraypaint for the RockShox front fork, and the Trek rear rack. Then I made a MOLLE cover for the main tube to hold pouches and gear, and then decided to see if an old 90s buttpack would fit on the handlebar, it does, but barely. Stuck a couple real cheap plastic clipboards into my MOLLE Sustainment pouches for pannier bag duty, and used 10" bungees to retain the panniers to the rack legs. A replacement seatpost is likely next, as well as maybe a set of black wheels when I can find them for a good price with double wall construction, rim brake compatibility, 8 speed cassette hub and 36 spoke count. Not sure if I want to replace rear derailleur yet, I see there is a black Shimano Alivio MC-20 rear derailleur out there that could work. But for now my fun budgets been shot 🤣

Montague Paratrooper top tube MOLLE cover

Quick little project for my 2001 Montague Paratrooper folding MTB. Used Singer 20U33, T70 thread, Camo Green Mil-spec nylon webbing in 1", 1.5" and 3.5" width, and 3/4" nylon binding. Black double bar buckles for the attachments on either end, and Ranger Green Velcro for the bottom attachments. I can lash long things like a bike tire inflator, tent pole sections, hiking poles, or a KaBar knife to the MOLLE between the Medic pockets up front and the rear, if I want to. As long as things are slim enough that they won't interfere with my pedaling. I'll make either Velcro wraps for the free strap ends, or elastic strap keepers.

Operatives from Blacktron 2 have stolen a Futuron StarDefender 200 and modified it to suit their taste! Swipe for pics!

One can see where the Aerial Intruder came from, in terms of layout and general shape. The Stardefender floor plan has been modified to enable seating two operatives; using a 6x4 plate up front instead of a 6x6, and a 6x6 plate in the middle instead of the special brick/plate/cockpit thing; some additional plates to build up the sides, and the normal 6x6 plate in the back for the rover. Instead of 2x8 plates for the front cannon mounts, I used 8x3 wings, and 4x4 wedges on it to make it look better shaped. Added a 8x1 plate to the middle canopy rear edge so that I could use robot arms to secure the canopy much like the Aerial Intruder 's setup. It is still able to combine the two side pods into a single craft. However, I cannot fit a minifig with the jetpack in it due to the quirk of the rear engine thruster bracket sticking into the space. Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

You can clearly see where the Aerial Intruder came from in terms of layout and general shape. I modified the Stardefender 200 floor to enable actually having two seats without changing much of anything else. A 6x4 plate up front, a 6x6 plate in the middle, and the normal 6x6 plate in the back. I could add one or two 2x2 plates behind the front person to have the back seat a little higher but I think it's not needed right now. Hope you guys enjoyed this!

Glamour shots of Montague Paratrooper, 16" Midlength A2 and OSOE Chest rig

Paratrooper bike is all complete for now. Rock Shox Jett coil fork with longer travel than the RST fork; stupid simple rack setup using seatpost QR cross bolt to hold single strut on Trek Rack. MOLLE II pouches in traditional drippy M81 Woodland. New brakes, new tires, new chainrings, new cassette, new cables, new chain, and new ergo grips. I think either I need visor sized MOLLE panels zip tied to the rack for the canteen covers, or just ditch them for standard bike water bottles + CamelBak. Eventually may swap silver wheels for black wheel set when I can find a good deal on a 26" set. Sustainment pouches have cheapo plastic clipboards in them for the required stiffening to prevent getting caught in wheel spokes. No gun rack, going old school sling carry. Last thing is a good helmet, thinking the Protec retro CPSC certified BMX helmet series.

Space Police prototype MOC

Built this based on the R:Tron prototypes from Back of Box Builds; but in Space Police 1 color scheme and with some adjustments from the instructions. I don't have the bottom 3x3 faceted pieces in black, nor the top versions in blue yet. Using 1980s-2000s parts, like the Team Alpha trans red panels for jail cell and 2x2 jumper plates to better secure the cell on the ship. Raised rear fins by one plate height with a 4x4 plate compared to the instructions, for a more secure fin placement, and added a Space Police printed slope behind the accessories area.

It is clear that this is a predecessor to the SP2 Rebel Hunter set, so the SP1 color scheme seemed to fit it the best.

Not Insectoids, but a Space Police MOC based on R:Tron prototype

This is based on the RTron prototype ship, and is a clear predecessor to the SP2 Rebel Hunter. Used 1980s-2000s pieces, particularly notable the 2001+ red trans panels from Team Alpha series' Ogel set. Also used 2x2 single jumper plates to secure the jail cell/cargo module without the magnet.

Picked up a 2001 Montague Paratrooper for pretty good prices, swipe for pics of progress to current mostly just a frame.

So, someone was selling this on Facebook Marketplace. Based on the serial starting with a 1, different, older logos, and "Parents Pending" sticker; I have figured that this is one of the earliest Paratrooper frames sold. Whoever built this went for silver/grey parts and RST 281 EL front fork; which has like 50mm travel (as opposed to newer Paratroopers having 80-100mm travel) and bottoms out way too easily with my fat ass on the bike. I've so far swapped the handlebar, painted the chainring and stem, and taken it mostly apart. Got new brifters (brake/shifter units); put gun rack hooks on the handlebar; not much clearance there. Will get replacement triple crankset, proper heavy duty rack with pannier support, new seatpost clamp with rack mounts, a rigid fork likely the Carver 440mm A2C steel fork when it comes in stock; new saddle and seatpost in black. Don't think it belongs in r/shittytechnicals yet🤣It will get new black V-brake set of a decent quality, and I have new cables and cable housing waiting for a better cable cutter, probably either a Shimano cable cutter or a Knipex Bowden cutter. Summer project; and it will have the M81 pouches attached to it, except maybe the waist pack up front if it interferes too much with the cables, brake and shifter units

Space Police 2 prototype FX-Star Patroller

Redid my recolored FX Star Patroller into Space Police 2 scheme. I think I like this scheme actually.. it looks in theme and fits the design of Space Police ships in general. I still have yet to get more 8.5L tubes and still need arrow tiles but for now this is pretty good looking to me. Last two pictures are of the rear section with too much red, as a simple palette swap of the original blue and grey rear section

Space Police 2 prototype FX Star Patroller

Changed up my recolored FX-Star Patroller to fit Space Police 2 color scheme, and last two pics are of the rear with way more red than needed 🤣I think this current color scheme actually fits the ship's looks and purposes, if the rear has a jail cell bay instead of a droid and rover. Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Photo of people wearing DCU Amphibious Assault Vests, seems to be Marines.

My mistake for those who saw my previous post; it was posted in a FB group discussing the same vest picked up from an USAF vet and had no explanation to the photo itself.

A mild recoloring of 6931 FX-Star Patroller, in the color scheme of 6891 Gamma-V Laser Craft

With the 80s-90s parts I have available; did this ship in the Gamma-V color scheme of grey and black with trans green windows, trans blue, red, yellow bits and a Classic Space logo slope. I know I am missing two 8.5L tubes for the front part; but these are all I have at the moment. I may redo when I get the right parts, or get the parts needed to build Gamma-V Laser Craft instead of this.

Redid the 90s 928 MOC a little bit, now with more windows, a rover and second seat! Swipe for pics with updated 918 and 924 MOCs

Redid the bottom so that the interior floor would be 6 wide, then swapped some panels for trans dark blue panels; made a raised seat with controls for the second crewman, and then built a rover. Also redid the roof and rear doors so that the roof could open up to show the inside, and shortened the doors so that it doesn't swing out so wide on each side. Still using robot arms to retain the ramp, similar to how the Blacktron Aerial Intruder retains it's large windshield. Last two pics with the updated 918 and 924 spacecrafts

Heavily stripped down and modified 918

Bottom half is mostly LL- 918 with some extras, like two engines and the boat bottom round bumps. Top half is wholly different in 1981 Starfleet Voyager color scheme. Basically this spaceman found a wrecked 918, took off the entire top half and then installed new white fairings, fins, and a Saucer Scout canopy for better visibility, and then scabbed on a booster rocket between the new fins, to make a high speed space skiff. Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

u/deviantdeaf — 4 months ago

Bottom half is essentially the same as the original 918, but with boat bumps and finned jet engines. Top half is wholly customized, using late 80s to early 90s pieces. The idea is that this astronaut found a damaged 918, and then took off the top half of the craft, then built onto the good hull/wings, using fewer pieces and having a removable booster rocket between the new fins. It also has 360 degree view from the octagon canopy pilfered from a wrecked Spyrius Saucer Scout. Hope you guys enjoyed this hot rodded 918!

90s-2000s Galaxy Explorer in 1987 Classic Space/Futuron color scheme

Picked up a bunch of wings and wedges recently, had a go again at creating a relatively large spaceship with the LL-928/497 wing form and general details. Utilized Space Police 2 Galactic Mediator styling up front, and did my own interpretation of the boxy main hull. No rover yet, and I didn't have enough 4x4 wedges with corner cutouts, so used newer 4x4 wedges with notches.

This ship does give off space truck/cargo hauler vibes

u/deviantdeaf — 4 months ago

Picked up a lot of wings and wedge pieces, so I went and built a relatively large MOC in LL-928 Galaxy Explorer style/wing plan; and utilized some aspects of Space Police 2 Galactic Mediator, particularly the double canopy and faceted corners. Didn't have enough of the 4x4 wedges with corner cutouts so had to use newer wedge pieces. Don't have a rover yet, and still need to make or get more Classic Spacemen.

This thing is a beast but looks a bit better than the previous rendition with the double side by side canopies and lower height.

Definitely giving off transport/cargo hauler vibes.

Couldn't figure out how to make it modular given the LL-928 wing form
