Finding Service shop for WWII Hamilton ORD

I just purchased a WWII Hamilton ORD watch with a 987A movement. I want to get the movement serviced and back to running. Does anyone have shop recommendations? I live in Connecticut and would like somewhere local if possible (if sending it somewhere is the best option I’ll consider it). I don’t want to do any case polishing, relume, or dial cleaning. I just want the movement back in running order.

I have looked at the Time keeper shop (Wallingford, CT) and Pieces of time (Newington, CT) and Standish Clock & Watch (West Hartford, CT) but when looking at reviews I’m seeing a LOT of negatives. Watches never getting fixed, paying for repairs that didn’t get done correctly. Please help me

[Baby Watch] let’s talk about celebration watches

I recently had my first child and picked out this Traska Summiteer in 38mm to celebrate. I have a few other watches and this is my biggest step up in price and finishing. Miyota automatic movement with no date. Their hardening process for the case. And this is my first watch with a sapphire crystal. The ox blood color is also my first colored dial and while this picture doesn’t do it justice the way it changes in different lights is really cool to me.

What watches have you guys picked up to celebrate kids or other big life events? (And how do you choose when to wear what watch? I love my Orient Ray 2 that I wore for my wedding and I keep trying to make sure both get worn!)

What to do when you feel like you lost your swing?

I’ve been playing the best golf of my life this year. Shot a personal best 82. But my last few rounds I’m struggling to make good iron contact. I had one day where everything was coming out low, short, and leaking right. I’m plagued by tops. And recently added the low diving hook shot to my miss hit repertoire. I’ve always considered my irons to be the best tool in my bag but currently they’re my greatest weakness.

My driver remains the best it’s ever been. My chipping and putting are on a rise. But the last couple weeks the irons have been a disaster.

So what do you do when your irons are in a slump? Do I just power through and wait for it to come back?
