I know more often than not RL1 people run cold infusion, but my question is in general is status's just better than raw damage for most cases? I know there's exceptions to this, but it seems like bosses like Placidusax who has strong resistances to statuses people still go out of their way to rot and poison him in the runs I see. Im just curious on why that is from the more experienced players.

Im now curious what peoples favorite AoWs are to use during their RL1 runs? someone during my weapons question mentioned Raptor of the mists and it made me realize theres so many AoW ive havent seen or ever tried.
I recently started my first RL1 run and my favorite part has been learning about different weapons, AoW, and talismans along the way as I often swap up weapons depending on the boss. Im curious what your guy's favorite weapons are to use? not the strongest or most efficient but just the niche weapon you love to use. I want to continue to add to my growing appreciation of the random weapons people don't talk about as much.
