Avoiding Rykard's earthquake 4 times in one fight without an AoW, including in the middle of an attack animation

This is something I've never quite been able to shake my confusion about. A while back, I questioned if Rykard's earthquake was truly undodgeable and I was told it is if you are in the middle of an attack animation. On a side note, I get that maybe playing around this attack forces you to be more passive than usual, but it's not as if you can just spam attack in neutral anyway because he might do his fast bite. Regardless, go to 1:20 for the one where I avoid it despite being in an attack animation.

I was also told that it's got some jank that makes it inconsistent, but tbh I have never run into something like that. I have only ever gotten hit when I run into debris or react/time it incorrectly. The move that gets me more is the poison tbh.

Honestly the worst part about this fight by far is the arena, it's worse than Fire Giant. Playing around the arena is harder than the boss moveset.

Messmer the Impaler (RL1, WL0, SB0, Hitless + No Aux)

OMG I love this boss. He was the second hardest boss for me in my casual playthrough and I think it will probably stay that way. Also, he's the second boss in a row that decides to end the fight with his coolest move lmao.

I felt like a drone using lightning slash mantis blade the whole time so I switched it up for Phase 2 (Not advised). Frankly, this took an obscene amount of attempts but it was worth it. Thank you winterflare and MrCarnage your videos were very helpful <3

Romina, Least Dangerous Australian Insect vs. Bugspray (NG+7/SB20)

More smart, more safe, Mortein. Phase transition is so ass, I had to fish for something where I could both hit her and barely get away.

Commander Gaius RL1 SB0 Hitless - dumb vs dumber

Did this before Putrescent Knight but wasn't too keen to share it because I played like dogshit. It seems you can hitless a boss at SB0 and still look like an idiot lmao. Next time I fight this guy I probably won't use Star Fist so that I can prevent whiffs.

Great boss except for opening charge, that sucks. Something a lot of people don't talk about is how you can't see some of his phase 2 moveset if you stay close to him (which you should be doing because long range charge). It's a bit of a shame, but I've only ever seen him use blades of stone once. A/A+ tier.

Tips on Four Kings?

These f*ckers are kicking my ass right now. Unless I get good RNG I usually get one shot by the first or second king to one of their BS attacks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Putrescent Knight RL1 SB0 Hitless - Phase 2 Skipped

Why can you one cycle this guy so easily at RL1 SB0...? I wasn't even hyper mode or using a strike weapon. He didn't phase transition and kept doing melee attacks for some reason.

Anyway, top 4, potentially top 3 boss in the DLC. Just fun, fair and inoffensive. Not much to complain about besides maybe stalling or hurtbox. Maybe some hitboxes are bigger or linger longer than they appear visually but I can't be too sure about the second part. Really easy to stance break if you bring fan daggers, he actually gives some enormous openings.

A+, maybe S- tier.

Sekiro - base vit, charmless, demon bell, no skills/prosthetics/consumables. Run summary, tips, etc

And that's Sekiro main bosses + 3x Inner reflections done. Have been posting fights here but also put all fights in this playlist.

Very fun run. No skills/prosthetics/consumables makes the fights harder, but basically means you don't need to worry about anything that isn't fighting the bosses. No farming, no grabbing material, no managing resources, just get in the mix and deflect and attack.

I've done ER WL0/no aux, LoP EL10, and Khazan base level. I would put this run at about the same difficulty as ER WL0/no aux, and fight times were similar to my base game WL0/no aux fights (ER DLC fights are longer though). Generally speaking I'd say a minute of combat in Sekiro feels harder than a minute in Elden Ring (need to make more player decisions in the same amount of time) but your experience may vary.

My approach for all bosses was to try and attack relentlessly to limit their movesets to them reacting to my attacks. I think that's the way to go vs standing in the center of the arena and letting the boss initiate.

If you just go charmless/demon bell you can cut most of these fight times in half or even more. Yahariku sugar + divine confetti is very strong and will last about a minute, which is an entire phase of combat so you can reapply.

You will miss prosthetic a lot. Firecracker for Gyoubu, Shuriken for Butterfly, spear for ape, firecracker for duo ape, malcontent + flame umbrella for Demon of Hatred. FWIW I do think you owe it yourself to try and do Ape Duo without cheesing the brown ape because the paired AI they have is very unique (arena is a bit too snug though).

I didn't miss skills very much. After you train yourself that don't have mikiri you don't really miss it and it does allow bosses to do some follow up attacks you basically never normally see. Generally speaking it does punish you for being on the edges of arenas more because typically your next best move other than mikiri is dodging over deflect.

Worst part of the run was Gyoubu and then the Juzou the Drunk fight. Gyoubu, for me at least, is pretty hard to no hit. Juzou isn't hard but you just need like 20 minutes fighting him without ads to learn his moveset and killing the ads is very annoying. If I was doing it again I would have killed Genichiro first and then come back and done Butterfly.

Re: Inner Bosses. Isshin isn't too bad (just don't R1 when he's in neutral in phase 1) and Genichiro is basically the same. I fought Father a lot more difficult because of the mist raven spam.

If you're considering a run, good luck! I really enjoyed this one.

Only endgame enemy who dies fast even at WL0

On a second thought, that's not true. Deathrite bird can be killed faster with the undead buffs.

Rellana RL1 SB0 Hitless - Have some hot takes on this fight

Originally posted a 6 second clip but eh why not just upload the whole fight. I don't know what's going on with the phase transition, sometimes she does the sword beams instead of the fire at point blank range and sometimes she cancels the transition into an attack. So I just ended up running away but man WHAT are those hitboxes the 4th one looked like it went through the character model 😭 Windy Crystal Tear clutched up at 1:56 I think too.

I tried it without parrying but no I just didn't find it much fun at all. A word to sum it up would probably be obnoxious. I like it when her combos end in a reasonable time with bigger punishes so parrying makes the fight a lot more palatable for me. I can't tell if some of her mixups are just completely random or based on positioning, the main one was double uppercut into either cross slash or the spin (which I had to space because I could not react to it)

A lot of the fun factor feels more unintentional compared to say Messmer or Bayle I guess, like the developers made her hitboxes tiny and had her combos go on for 10 seconds and expected skilled players to figure out interesting strafes and jumps to make it more reasonable. Or they expected you to parry.

Also that awkward pause at the start when I was trying to get her to stop idling. I really don't like the flow of this fight personally, but that's a subjective criteria. The reliance on reaction checks too. Let's not even talk about doing this on medium roll if you don't know the no roll strats. Objectively a really good boss that I subjectively do not enjoy all that much, even after beating her RL1 hitless twice. I'll give her A tier because I can't call it unfair and at least it's fun when you parry and others have fun without parrying.

Side tangent: Frame rate is atrocious, it's worse than it looks. Loading time was a minute or longer. That was probably a contributing factor to my annoyance and why I decided to go hyper mode. If I ever buy a PS5, maybe I'll change my mind on her.

I feel like I post way more than the others here despite probably not playing as much. I wonder if I should be more selective with what I share haha, some of it is slop for sure. SB0 has been surprisingly easy but it's also because I've been fighting the more readable bosses... when I get to Dancing Lion and Sunflower? Oh boy.

Bayle The Dread RL1 SB0 NG+7 No AUX No Hit

Had to cut first 30secs cuz the fight exceeded the 15min time cap lol.

Second hardest souls boss after Pre Nerf PCR imo, pretty much one of the best dragon fights in gaming for me,although i think the forward breath attack needs to get deleted from the game, between bouncing off walls hitting you from behind when properly dodged and having some janky hitboxes it creates inconsistencies in an otherwise very consistent and well made fight.

So I’m doing my first ever RL1 run

I haven’t decided if I want to do WL0 or not because I suck. I’ve only beaten the game twice and Like dude idk how I’m going to beat the game like this tbh but it’s so fun lol. I guess I just need any advice you can spare. Please and thanks.

Count Ymir Hitless, and a Hot Take

Nearing the end of my region locked Max% run and finally wrapped up the Metyr questline. Surprisingly enjoyed this NPC fight. Jolan was notably devoid of jank, and Ymir gets destroyed by positioning yourself well and punishing his finger births. Only 46 attempts for the hitless. Curious what the masses opinions are on this boss fight.

Midra RL1 SB0 Hitless - Best DLC boss?

Readable, mostly intuitive, great flow. Fantastic OST. Very fun. What's not to love? If he's too easy, you could always lower your damage output or vigor.

Worst part is easily "mini midra." That little shit actually one shots you with a puny slap at this level.
