Cleric Beast +0 (Hitless)

Of course, the winning attempt is the one where I tragically whiff the opening transforming attack on his head...

This was much harder than expected, he has one-damage hitboxes on his feet during the multi hit combos which infuriated me to no end. I also tried not to use fire paper for quite a while (I didn't want my plans to involve having to farm), and I kind of think buffless +0 will be too much for this run, the damage difference is absurd. Ultimately, when I stopped being stubborn and finally dropped the lock on, things got much easier.

Blood-starved Beast +0

Almost hitless... that was the first time I saw that attack in Phase 3 and I didn't want to redo it bc I'm lazy lol. I was still learning and testing some things on this attempt, so that's why you see me miss 40 transforming attacks.

Also I'm very bad at the fundamentals of this game, they don't come naturally to me at all like ER and Dark Souls do 😭

Xbox Controller Stopped Working (Kind of) for Bloodborne

Everything was working just fine last time I played but now only R2 and L2 are being registered?? Restarting doesn't help, not sure how this happened I don't remember messing with any settings

I'm on version 0.7.0

Sorry if this is a stupid question- does this count as a hit?

Midra's head appears to apply madness buildup on his charge attack before the actual hitbox comes out. I know other non-damaging moves (Maliketh Roar) count as being hit if you can still dodge them, what about this? It's definitely dodgeable with a tighter timing, but its different than a roar because I'm not actually getting the hit sound effect. Please let me know what the consensus is

Never give up!!! Surprise bleed proc messes up the backstab loop but we clutch those!! (Jori RL1 WL0 SB0)

There is a strange part of me that enjoyed all four hours that this took me...

Commander Gaius, RL1 WL0 SB0 (No Aux + Hitless)

Very cool boss, his big combo is really fun to dodge. Doesn't seem to have the mixup potential of a lot of Elden Ring bosses (At least while making sure to stay close), he's more like a really great DS3 boss. He didn't use every move here, unfortunately, but I did figure all of them out. Charge is still kind of a toss up for me, but I didn't use torrent or an AoW so that's a win to me!!

How do I consistently dodge this move?

I swear I've tried rolls in every direction, sometimes they work sometimes they don't I know he only does it when you're on his left so I generally avoid being there, but sometimes that's where my dodges end up putting me after some of his attacks where he moves around a lot.

SHE'S DEAD SHE'S FINALLY DEAD METYR IS DEAD!!!!!! RL1 WL0 SB0 (No Aux + Hitless + Melee Range Laser "Dodge")

This boss is bad for obvious reasons but the winning attempt was actually really fun tbh... I'm pretty proud of figuring out how to escape the close range laser aura. The fact that I had to have two invincibility arts and a consumable to make it a fair fight is crazy though, FromSoft DONT DO THIS AGAIN!!

I literally have no idea how to rate this boss because the undodgeable moves are so horrendous but once you just accept that you have to use Raptor it doesn't bother you as much. IDK she has some fun attacks.

The BHS into Raptor seems consistent as long as you don't take CR2s directly in her face but instead space yourself out.

Thank you to MrCarnage for the general strategy!

Metyr was making me very upset so here's a very sloppy Gyoubu as a break (CLDB, Base Vit/Attack)

Reupload bc I don't know how to make a reddit post apparently lol

Played a good amount of Sekiro, never challenge ran it. Basically just doing CLDB and base Vit/Attack. Also avoiding really OP prosthetics/arts, the only ones I have in mind right now are the mortal draws but I'll add more as I become more familiar with them. Probably avoiding Sabimaru just bc it's a status, but we'll see. The nice thing about this game is that I don't have to worry about not doing this guy hitless bc I can just refight him when I want to, I <3 Sekiro!!!

Messmer saves the best for last

(Last minute and a half or so of my most recent Messmer fight, he's so cool <3)

Anything obvious I'm missing to speed up phase 1 of this boss? (WL0, SB0, No Aux)

https://reddit.com/link/1uxq723/video/pwqc3qgo5idh1/player

It's taking my whole physick to get to phase 2 lol and I know she gets more stalling moves so this fight is probably going to be crazy long... nothing immediately stands out to me that I could be doing better (Maybe some jump attacks in place of some rolls?)

PUTRESCENT KNIGHT DONE FINALLY!!!!!! (WL0 SB0, No Aux + Hitless)

https://reddit.com/link/1uwb8nf/video/ahjvg0ecm7dh1/player

I'm really not a fan of this boss, but some pretty neat things happened on the winning attempt, at least. Somehow easiest of the DLC bosses so far, while also being the most frustrating. Not sure who's next, part of me wants to get all the bad stuff out of the way with Metyr or Midra (Jori is the bad part) but I'm leaning towards Gaius or Avatar atm

Also, I know flaming strike is more efficient here in terms of damage, I just think the sacred blade projectile is really cool :)

Romina, Saint of the Bud (RL1, WL0, SB0, No Aux + Hitless)

I like this boss... I think. I'm not quite sure, I find the first 35% of her HP a delight to fight with interesting methods of dodging her moves, and then you have to figure out how you're going to get to Phase 2 alive. Usually it's a crit, which is easy, but if you don't get a well timed stagger, good luck lol (That's what the fire pots are for). I knew the transition was bad but it really hurts this fight more than I thought. Significantly easier than Messmer, 796 attempts VS 368 attempts.

Also, Romina, more than anything else in the DLC, feels the most unfinished for a few strange reasons:

  • Her arena is pretty big but she still manages to get inside the wall constantly, you have to consciously bait her away from it. I had a few attempts where she did the stinger attack while her whole tail was inside the wall
  • Her Phase 2 really doesn't add that much. It adds like... 3 moves? They aren't difficult to dodge and they don't give you new reliable punish windows so pretty much it's just the first phase but sometimes Romina decides that you get to take a break from hitting her
  • Some of her halberd moves barely show up, it's strange because she doesn't seem to have that many moves, at least to me. Maybe it was my positioning that changed this for the winning attempt but she definitely didn't use every move
  • She... hurts herself on phase transition? And it's not a set amount, like the butterfly pattern determines how much damage she takes. Very strange
  • Unravel hitbox is weird, I don't think there's much more to say

Overall the fact that this is the only other required boss to get to PCR besides Messmer makes the contrast between the two extremely jarring. She mechanically feels like an optional boss in comparison to him with the music and visuals on par with him. Very fun though, better than Dancing Lion

Messmer the Impaler (RL1, WL0, SB0, Hitless + No Aux)

OMG I love this boss. He was the second hardest boss for me in my casual playthrough and I think it will probably stay that way. Also, he's the second boss in a row that decides to end the fight with his coolest move lmao.

I felt like a drone using lightning slash mantis blade the whole time so I switched it up for Phase 2 (Not advised). Frankly, this took an obscene amount of attempts but it was worth it. Thank you winterflare and MrCarnage your videos were very helpful <3

Some people asked for the full 15 minute fight, so here it is. Bayle the Dread at RL1 WL0 SB0

Ok, I had to compress it twice to upload it, but here it is!

Cinematic Finish from Bayle (RL1 WL0 SB0, a lot of aux used lol)

Only the last 3-ish minutes because the whole fight is almost 15 minutes long. I probably won't upload the whole thing, I'm not sure I can and I also don't think anyone wants to watch 15 minutes of me dealing 200 damage at a time to him lol (Though I used cold antspur to speed up Phase 1). In typical Bayle fashion, he insists on using every single one of his most grandiose, ultra stalling moves right at the end.

Not hitless; I got hit right at the beginning of Phase 2 (Bubbletear) in a truly embarrassing fashion, like I just didn't space the downward fire correctly by probably one step. If I had one more braincell it would have been hitless.

Before I did this, Bayle was my favorite boss in the series, and I thought fighting him for so long would make me hate him. But, to be honest, I just love him even more now.

180 total attempts, including those lost instantly to unavoidable bouncing fire.

Bayle Headbutt during his bite combo

I don't think I need to show video I'm pretty sure it's the only attack that he uses the top of his head for, but I'll post one if it is needed.

I swear I can't honestly react to it, but if I could that would be one extra punish window I'd love to take advantage of. Is this just a pre-roll? Every time he can use it I roll, if he does it it looks like I barely got away with it and if he doesn't do it I look like an idiot lmao. Is there a trick to it or anything?

DANCING LION WL0 SB0!!!! HITLESS + NO AUX!!

TYSM to everybody that helped me, it still took like a week and 30 hours of attempts though 😭 I don't think I can handle any more of the DLC with no-aux

I wasn't able to upload it for a little while, so I also managed to beat Rellana, which took about half as much time and was 3x as fun. The audio on that one didn't record so I have to dub it over or something we'll see how that goes
