Misfiring issue with Racechip s
hey everyone! i don’t usually use reddit often but i had a quick question and seeing if anyone else had the same issue;
recently i purchased a Racechip s and had been running it on map 3 and premium gas (91 and 93 if 91 wasn’t accessible), nothing really aftermarket except a janky spectre air intake (which i plan to replace. didn’t know much of cars when i first installed it) and an Xforce catback exhaust system.
i drove from MO to KS with no issues, except when the car downshifts hard and the engine is under load, i notice it misfire to which i need to pull over and restart the car to get it running properly again. i talked with my coworkers (who are automotive technicians) and they said it could be fuel related or my possible spectre makeshift intake.
i did replace my spark plugs recently with NGK 1402’s (i believe that was the number) after experiencing a misfire on the highway prior to the racechip. after replacing the spark plugs, the car didn’t misfire at all, until i put the racechip on. so i’ve taken it off and planning to put my stock air filter box on with a new air filter until i get a proper AFE intake system. also, a bit of a newb when it comes to cars so please go easy on me here lol. any and all help is appreciated!
