**[Nostalgia help] Trying to identify a ginger-flavoured biscuit from 80s/90s Tirunelveli (Junction area)**
Hi all — long shot, but this sub feels like the right place to ask.
I grew up close to the Junction in the 80s/90s. There was a biscuit I used to love back then and I can't for the life of me remember the brand or shop name. What I remember:
- Ginger-like taste (sukku/inji flavour), sweet but with a slightly savoury/salty edge
- Very crumbly texture — it would break and melt rather than snap
- Bought somewhere around the Junction area, possibly from a local bakery or a petti kadai
I suspect it was a local bakery product rather than a big brand (maybe Arasan? Or one of the Melapalayam bakeries that supplied loose biscuits to shops?), but I'd love to know if anyone else remembers this — the name, the bakery, or whether anywhere still makes it.
Anyone from that area and that era who remembers these? Even a shop name or a lead would make my day. Nandri!
