Dubform – Dub Techno Chord Instrument (Max for Live / Ableton Live)

Dubform – Dub Techno Chord Instrument (Max for Live / Ableton Live)

Thanks to everyone who tested this device and shared feedback during development. It really helped shape the final version.

Dubform is a midi instrument designed for creating instant dub techno chords, atmospheric stabs and evolving textures. The aim was to build something that stays simple to use while still being capable of producing deep, spacious sounds from a single device.

Here's a short demo showing Dubform in the context of a full track, with the chord, filtering and effects evolving throughout.

Really appreciate everyone who took the time to try it out!

Built a Max for Live instrument for dub techno chords and stabs – looking for a few testers

EDIT: I now have more than enough testers but thanks so much to everyone for the interest and support!

Hi all, I've been developing a Max for Live instrument called Dubform and I'm looking for a few people to test it and provide feedback.

Dubform is designed specifically for dub techno and similar electronic styles. It combines a built-in synth, chord generator, filters and effects into a single device, allowing you to create dub chords, stabs and atmospheric textures quickly without needing a large effects chain.

If anyone is interested in testing it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the sound, workflow, usability and any bugs you come across.

Just leave a comment or send me a message and I'll get a copy over to you.

Thanks!

I built this to speed up the process of checking how a mix holds up in different listening contexts without leaving Ableton.

You can quickly switch between the original signal, a mono check, phone-style playback, and club-style playback to spot issues with balance, low-end, and overall clarity without exporting or stacking plugins.

Thanks to everyone who tested this device and sent over feedback, it really helped shape how the final version turned out.

Bleep is an FM-based instrument for creating simple bleep sounds for hypnotic techno, designed to be quick to use and easy to shape.

Here’s a short demo showing how the sound can be pushed in different directions, then placed in context with effects and a full track.

Really appreciate everyone who took the time to try it out!
