I built an IPO tracker for people who apply through family and friends

If you apply to IPOs using more than one bank account — a parent's, a sibling's, a friend's — you probably have a spreadsheet somewhere. So did I.

Mine had columns I no longer understood, and twice I couldn't tell whether a refund had actually landed. That's the problem I wanted to solve.

IPO Ledger is an Android app that keeps every IPO application, allotment, fund transfer, refund and settlement in one place.

What it does:

  • 📋 Track all IPO applications
  • 💰 Record the amount blocked for each IPO
  • 🏦 Track which bank/account the money came from
  • 👤 Track money transferred by someone else
  • ✅ Track allotment / non-allotment
  • ↩️ Track refunds
  • 🤝 Settle up with everyone who put in — either direction, with reversals
  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Group people into pools like Family or Friends, and track capital per pool
  • 📊 See how much money is currently tied up in IPOs
  • 📈 See how often you get allotted, and your real profit after selling
  • 🔔 Local reminders for open/close dates, allotment dates and refunds due
  • 🔒 Everything is stored locally on the device

Your data never leaves your phone. No account, no cloud sync, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.

The app makes exactly one kind of network request: when you search for an IPO, the text you typed is sent to my server so it can return matching issues. Your applications, money, people, notes and history are stored in SQLite on your device and are never transmitted. Nothing else you type or enter is sent.

There's an app lock (biometric) if you want it, and Backup then Share writes an encrypted file you control.

I'm being specific because "we don't collect your data" is a claim I saw a lot of apps make loosely. You can verify mine — the privacy policy names the one server, the one field it sees, and the x-request-id you'll find in the app's request log if you ever want a specific request purged.

Why Android-only:

Honestly: this is a personal tool that solved my problem, and I built it for the phone I use. It's free with no IAP or ads. If it's useful to you, great — and I'd read the feedback.

What I'd like feedback on:

I'm most curious about:

  1. Is the settlement flow right? It's the part I'm least sure about. If you apply with family, how do you actually track who gets what back?
  2. What are you doing today — a spreadsheet, a notes file, your head? I'd like to know what this actually needs to replace.
  3. Anything confusing in the screenshots.

A caveat:

Version 1. I couldn't test on a real device for every Android version, so there may be rough edges. If something breaks, please tell me what you did — that "steps to reproduce" field in the report form is genuinely the most useful thing you can give me.

If it looks useful, feedback form and bug reports are both in Settings then About.
