I have the default for creating images set where I want it, but it makes me a little crazy that I can't seem to default images to open at anything other than 72 pixels/inch. My phone and Canon camera take photos at great resolution, so the 72 px/in default in GIMP makes my photos huge, a current one is 64 inches wide. I know how to scale individual images for what I want, but why should I have to do that for every single one, rather than just the ones that need to be different? I print a lot of my photos and tend to think in terms of good print resolution so would prefer my default photos at at least 300. Help?
