“These abuses RARELY happen, it’s overblown online” ( Eucharist)

I see a lot of people discussing in the liturgical space online saying “abuses related to the Eucharist/liturgy rarely happen, they are just overblown by social media”. I don’t think people consider how much abuse happens behind the scenes that only is revealed when a fool lets the cat out of the bag. another thing is people don’t know what even counts as going against the rubrics anymore. read ahead because I have a shocking story to share

for context I went to RCIA at my local parish last year (I only needed confirmation). I just stopped going to mass there recently because of how much of a joke people made it: people running the mass would constantly make mistakes (eg start playing a song off the computer in the middle of a silent part of mass) and EVERYONE would laugh. the guy making announcements at the end of mass clearly just wanted to crack jokes and mass wasn’t even over yet. and our priest would just sit there and let the ExMins handle the Eucharist and take it out of and place it back inside the tabernacle. we all know this is beyond the delegated responsibility of an ExMin. (my church is small and does not even need them but we have 4 every mass).

upon moving to the TLM I was reminded of something the RCIA laity team told me last year. they admitted that during covid, the priest gave any layperson who wished, consecrated hosts to take home. families then administered the Eucharist to each other. I went online to see if this was something that was approved in the heat of the moment (even if negligently) and I couldn’t find anything. extremely shocking and scandalising. and the RCIA laity didn’t have any problem with it at the time of sharing that story. so yes, this stuff happens. no one who started attending that church after covid would even know that happened. am I saying every church did this? no. but when people say “abuses are overblown”, we really have no idea just how much it happens. we can’t be at every parish. and even those communities that seem kind and like they’re trying to do good can be very mislead. anyone else heard of something similar happening during covid at a church?

Are there alternatives to alcohol-based tinctures?

I've been seeing naturopaths for over a year now, but as of recent have begun a new naturopath journey with one specialising in hormones as I have PCOS (I think it's the general inflammation kind). She put me on herbs, and this is my first time on herbs. The issue is she never asked me "hey, just making sure you can consume alcohol?", because if she did I would've said no. I live in Australia and I'm on a learner license, meaning my legal limit for alcohol is 0 blood alcohol concentration. Once I am off my L's I will be on a probationary green license for 3 years, which also doesn't allow for any alcohol, until I'm on a full license. I am unsure of how my tincture could be affecting my BAC. I always drink it after my meal, but I'm small, and females tend to be more reactive to alcohol. It is a 42% ethanol tincture, 7.5mL taken twice a day. I contacted my nat about this because I was concerned. Seems like this has never been an issue that someone else has brought up, because she contacted the herb production company, and they basically said they cannot comment on whether this would be present in my BAC or not. The only way I could find out is if I go to a police station and they agree to breathalyse me (my state is broke and they ran out of breathalysers recently, lmao).

Are there any alternatives to alcohol based tinctures? Are these alternatives just as effective as what I'm taking or not? The tincture contains black cohosh, passionflower, calendula, liquorice and Paeonia.

'time to reset your Mycoles password' nightmares

The "time to reset your password because its expired" thing happened. As usual, you reset it. It says "success!" you login, it says its wrong. you reset again and try the same password you just made, it says you can't use passwords you've already used. (brand new pw i made up today btw)

so a pw I made up today is:

incorrect

also a password that already is in use when i try resetting again

totally not contradictory at all xD

so I choose a new PW, restart from the beginning. cycle repeats. I try another day, all of a sudden my combination of numbers, lowercase and uppercase letters, and symbols doesnt meet the policy (even tho all my previous passwords followed the exact same formula and met the policy)
im convinced the site is just glitched, theres no rhyme of reason to the errors.

before someone says call IT, tried that already. she said I am logging in 'wrong' because im not logging in using my username (first letter of name+surname), it wont work. I tried explaining that mycoles.com.au takes me straight to microsoft and it asks me to login via my coles email instead (always has for the 3 yrs ive worked there). she claimed im the only person ever that shes spoken to who logs in such a way which i find interesting cuz everyone ive ever seen login at work logs in the way I do. she kept repeating this talking point over, and over, got frustrated cuz she was just interrupting me and hung up.

Ive already spent hours trying to fix this pw nonsense. what do yall do once it gets to this point? extremely peeved off by the customer IT support people and i just dont feel like dealing with them again. they literally just cut you off mid sentence so they can repeat to you that when logging in you need to login with your username, after youve just explained to them that the website takes u to microsoft and asks you for an email address. usernames are not accepted. I even asked if she wanted a screenshot for proof and she said no, of course.

yes, ive tried different browsers, reset history, all the things.
