How can I get my adult cats pet insurance and a primary vet?

exactly as it says. when i was a teen, my dad took them to get regular check ups, and one of them had a broken leg that needed surgery too. they got their vaccines and got fixed.

but now im moved out, and its been years since ive taken them to the vet and i need to get pet insurance first, but im struggling to figure out what the best options are and how it works. it doesnt cover preexisting conditions right? so how would that work, should i expect to pay a lot of money out of pocket in the near future for any treatments they may need upon initial evaluation?

i also need advice on how to schedule an initial vet visit for adult cats and what i should expect. im sure I'll need to bring their vaccine records, but should i bring anything else?

and finally, one of the biggest reasons preventing me from doing this sooner is that one of my cats, Bandit, has always been pretty anxious overall but carriers and car rides especially scare him, to the point that everytime i put him in a carrier, he pisses, shits, and sometimes throws up on himself in a matter of minutes. and then having to bathe him just freaks him out more :[ hearing the way he howled constantly and seeing him shaking and covered in his own shit last time i moved broke my damn heart....

ive tried different kinds of carriers, both hard and soft ones, and ive tried using some anxiety calming treats but none of the things ive tried have really worked. ive heard you can get a mild sedative or muscle relaxant to help with this but im not sure what to look for if it this is something that needs to be prescribed by a vet beforehand

any and all help is appreciated!!

so im mainly a hobby artist and i work at a warehouse. they did a fun event 2 yrs back where they had some of the workers paint on these large concrete parking barriers and i painted one! the warehouse provided the paint and materials and such and just let me paint during my work hours

anyways, a coworker has seen it and now asked me if i would be willing to paint a mural in her home for her granddaughter. ive never done something like this before and foolishly agreed before doing my research. i told her id need to do some research before seeing her again on Wednesday (5/6). sooo.. i need help.

i may end up turning her down if i think this will be too involved or complicated but i also desperately need some money and its not like im completely inexperienced. she knows i havent done this much before, and its clear shes hoping that i will be cheaper than a proper mural artist (which i frankly would be considering this is a first time for me so i wouldn't want to charge a fuck ton).

she said shed give me measurements and a photo of the wall Wednesday so i dont have details on that yet, but i know she wants a Bluey theme. which is fine, i usually do cartoony work anyways. i also dont have any idea if she wants it done by a specific date so idk shit basically lmao

TLDR: i need general advice and tips for a beginner interior mural job. what kind of prep should i expect to do, what materials should i expect to need and what brands are best, etc just anything you think id find useful/wish you would've known when starting out
