Which "non ballad" song would you love to hear in a piano only version, performed by Marina?

If you could pick one song that is NOT already a ballad and hear Marina perform it as an intimate piano version, what would it be?

I really think that most of her discography would work beautifully even in a minimalist arrangement ✨ 🎹

Also, does anyone know if there’s a specific reason why she doesn't do this kind of performance anymore, that I might have missed? Or is it just a deliberate choice for her recent shows?

I'm linking this version of Happy because I'm feeling nostalgic for her voice with just accompanying piano :)

EDIT: Since I play a bit of piano myself, I’d love to take your suggestions and see how they sound on the keys, even if just by ear!

Which Marina song would you want to hear covered, and by which artist?

Hello fellow Diamonds!

I've been thinking about this for quite a while: I realised that despite Marina's "subterranean" influence on the (alt)-pop scene and her remarkable discography, I rarely see well-known artists releasing covers of her songs, at least on YouTube (---> if you know of any that I might have missed, please drop the links below!)

If you could choose any well-known artist to cover a Marina song, who would it be and which track would you want them to sing?

Personally, I'd be curious to hear Billie Eilish cover any song of her choice, also, I would really appreciate hearing some covers of her unreleased tracks too!
For example, I’d love to hear an electropop band do a rendition of Pancake Karma or Scab and Plaster (if anyone here is a musician and wants to start an electropop band with me, hit me up :D!)

As a little bonus, here is a super short video of Billie listening to Solitaire, which happens to be my absolute favorite Marina song: it makes me smile every single time :)))

Curious to hear your thoughts and dream pairings!

Edit: Just had a second thought after posting: now I'm imagining an LCD Soundsystem cover of Scab and Plaster, giving it major "Tribulations" vibes :o

Do your families know about Marina? (+ a funny quick story about my dad :D)

Hello fellow Diamonds!

I just wanted to share a quick, funny story that happened with my 78-year-old dad today.

He mostly listens to old-school Italian music, like Mina or Fabrizio De André.
However, before I went to Marina's concert in Cardiff, he actually showed a lot of interest and asked me a bunch of questions about her, like how old she was (we're actually peers), what her backstory was, what her music was like, etc...

Today I gave him a ride in my car and had Marina playing on the stereo. He only listened for a few seconds before asking:

"...is this MariSa?"

"MariNa, dad, not MariSa!" ("Marisa" is a fairly common old-fashioned Italian name)

"Ah, yes, yes! She is a beautiful young lady!" he replied in Sicilian.

I couldn't help but laugh while driving home :D It was just nice that he recognized her voice, even if he remembered her name in his own way!

It made me wonder: does your family know or care about Marina? I'd love to hear your experiences :)

Edit: I totally missed the opportunity to say: "Actually, her name is Marina", but my dad knows only a few words in English. It's a lol anyways :D
