White River Amphitheater

I’m going to a concert at the White River Amphitheater for the first time tomorrow and i’ve heard parking is a nightmare. Because of work i’ll have to get there near the time the actual show starts so arriving early just isn’t an option for me. Is arriving bad to the point where i’ll most likely miss part of the show or is it just leaving the venue that’s really bad?? I’m debating if it’s genuinely worth the $80 parking.

Has anyone summited St. Helen’s mid September?

I’m hoping to score Mount St. Helens climbing permits for the second weekend of September. I know the weather can be pretty unpredictable that time of year, so I’m curious what others have experienced.
I have plenty of mountain hiking experience, but most of it has been during the summer. In the fall and winter, I usually stick to lower elevations, only doing a high elevation hike every once in a while.
For those of you who have climbed St. Helens in September, what were the conditions like? Any gear recommendations or tips for that time of year would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to hear your experiences!

It’s even more magical than expected!

My boyfriend and I did some backcountry beach camping in Olympic this weekend and made our way to the Hall of Mosses on the drive home. Wow… it felt so magical. This was our third time visiting the park and I can’t believe we waited this long to explore this area. I honestly thought it might be one of those places that looks better online, but it completely exceeded my expectations.

Although many of you probably already know these parks fill up fast, I just want to mention that we arrived around 6am and still had to park in overflow parking. Granted, it was a holiday weekend, but I’m sure it fills up quickly even on normal days. Definitely try to get there as early as you can if you plan on visiting.

Places to park and sleep

My boyfriend and I just realized we can take a little trip this weekend so we want to try and make Olympic work but obviously all the campgrounds are booked up since it’s 1. Olympic National Park and 2. a holiday. We are planning on just sleeping in my car. Does anyone have any suggestions on places we can legally park and sleep at? We have a discover pass which i’ve heard gets you access to certain campgrounds for free but I don’t know much about that. I just downloaded the dyrte so hopefully that can help me too.
