RIP my traffic
No manual penalties, just the algorithm obliterating my traffic. My site went from being #1-3 for a bunch of high search volume, commercial intent keywords to barely ranking for anything. I thought the January update was a huge hit but this May update absolutely killed me. The site is https://nsfwstory.com if anyone wants to do a post mortem. I connected my GSC to Claude and was asking it questions and it's saying that it was my backlink profile but I really think it was the fact that I had a bunch of AI generated stories in the story library. I mean, the entire purpose of the story library is for users to post their generated stories publicly but if Google's devaluing AI generated content then I guess it makes sense.
