Best places to mansplain the Manhattan grid?

I’m a first generation New Yorker, also known as a transplant. I’ve been here for 3 years and have nothing to show for it except for a modest increase in my bank account. I only focused on going to work and going to loud bars on weekends to stand awkwardly by myself and act chill.

Because I never got out of my comfort zone or got involved in the local community, I can only feel better about myself by knowing how to navigate Manhattan marginally better than the average tourist. Still working on the other boroughs.

Where can I condescendingly teach people about how to use the Manhattan grid? I really wanna blow their minds with elementary school math about north and west being bigger numbers. I’ve thought about the Times Square Olive Garden or JFK, but competition is pretty stiff there. Maybe the Staten Island Ferry is a good choice since the people there must love Manhattan. Any other good suggestions?

What is best weekend farmers market for publically arguing with your partner?

My girlfriend and I live a normal transplant life. We work soulless jobs during the weekdays in exchange for TikTok sanctioned activities on the weekend.

One of the things we enjoy doing together is yelling very loudly and publicly at one another in busy areas. Just last weekend, we got in a shouting match at Penn Station because we couldn’t figure out whether 10th and 5th meant 10th street or 10th avenue. Having so many eyes on us elevated the tension that we had to alleviate later on.

I see so many couples fighting at farmers markets, and I wanna join in too. What are the best ones to really put on a show for others? I kinda like the Union Square one because the name “Union” is ironic when we’re having division. But maybe it’s more scenic to do it Grand Army plaza with the giant arch and greenery?

What are your top 5 favorite movements from the game?

Edit: Moments***

I beat the game the other day and have been thinking about it since. I’m a bit of a sucker for this genre and was looking forward to this game since I heard about it last year. I’m honestly really surprised by how much it resonated with me on a personal level. I didn’t have the type of teenage experience that the main trio did, but just the general feeling of remembering good times with your childhood friends and transitioning to a new stage in your life made me reflect on my own life. Will definitely be playing this game more in the future and have people play it when they come over to hang out.

Just wanted to hear the parts of the game that stuck with people the most. For me, I would have to say:

  1. Slater and Stacey’s photo booth poses

I think this is the moment that the game really started hitting me a bit in the feels with the perfect song choice and seeing the photos you took show up later. Just reminded me of all the silly things my friends and I used to do when no one else was watching.

  1. Stacey seeing Cassandra and Jenny hanging out

Think we can all relate to being ditched by one of our friends at some point. Really liked the black and white coloring choice they made to highlight Stacey’s sadness.

  1. The trio discovering The Ritz

This felt like the happiest moment in the game. Just really captured how it was like to explore a big unknown place with your friends when you had no other responsibilities. My friends and I used to do the same thing when we were bored during summers

  1. The dinosaur park

Kinda gave me Last of Us: Left Behind vibes haha. This felt like the longest segment, and all the cute moments like the Kaiju Mode and poses that Cassandra and Slater did made me smile a lot.

  1. The car ride to The Ritz

This was a nice parallel to the other Ritz section. Peobabaly my favorite song of the game, and it was nice to see the older students being nice to the younger trio.
