What was the length of time between your trigger and shedding?

I'm currently trying to work out what has caused my shedding, to see if I can get back on the medication I originally thought caused it. I've been to the GP and she couldn't give any answers, though suggested a blood test and said unlikely to be alopecia due to pattern.

I started taking methylphenidate start of September, and within 3 days I'd noticed hair loss. I stopped taking it after a week after my hairdresser confirmed I wasn't being picky, and I was genuinely losing a lot. I've now been off all meds for 3 weeks, and it's still going. I would have assumed it would have stopped by now if it was the med (short half life), but maybe this was instant TE and I can expect it to last a while (I read some meds can do this on this sub?). Potential it also had an interaction with my iron stores, but this shouldn't be a problem with my diet. Can't get a blood test for a month but I've booked anyway.

Alternatively, I started counting back, and 4.5 months before the loss began I was in a&e (first time ever) for a bad infection, where I received IV antibiotics and steroids (plus a few panic attacks). The steroids I've heard are a big trigger, but was this too long ago?

I'm at peace with the TE kinda, but obviously I don't want to prolong it. I'm also really keen to carry on my med titration and sort my life out, so I'd love to hear any anecdotes so I can make a decision! Thanks.
